Read ahead to know how the F1 Imola GP played out this Sunday.
The Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix is going to be one of the most memorable races this year. Verstappen who was starting the race from front row was flying through the race. He was able to bring victory to Red Bull Racing paddock once again for their 400th race in the Formula 1 championship. The Imola GP was a complete turn around in the top-10 from the starting grid.
The race was quite safe compared to the scary moments yesterday. It was a good sign that none of the drivers crashed out ended up colliding throughout the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix.

The fans from Imola had to face a lot of disappointment this weekend. They were cheering for their home hero Kimi Antonelli, a sensational rookie of the 2025 season. But, this time around Kimi Antonelli could not even finish the race let alone aim for a potential podium.
The drivers in the top-10 finishing order of the Imola GP are as follows-
Max Verstappen undoubtedly stole the show as soon as the race started. He drove past Oscar Piastri during the first turn of the race start to gain the race lead. Since then, Verstappen was able to cruise his way through the race easily. The VSC and Safety Car was a cherry on top for his race helping him keep his win without any issues.
Lando Norris made an early overtake on George Russell as he went past his outside. This gave Norris the chance to fight for victory. Even though he did dropped to third during the safety car period. Lando Norris was able to make the overtake on Oscar Piastri with ease. It was a forgettable race for the championship leading Aussie. Oscar Piastri was starting on pole but he could not claim the maximum points this weekend. The top-3 in the drivers championship have come closer with the latest race results.

Lewis Hamilton is the fourth place finisher at Imola GP. Hamilton made a miraculous effort to overtake drivers as he tried to control the damage from a weak qualifying session. Alex Albon is the final driver in the top-5 this weekend. At one point, he was even eyeing a fourth place finish. Although, a late race tussle with Charles Leclerc threw him off his pace.
Charles Leclerc will not be impressed after finishing in sixth place this weekend. He gave away the race position to Albon for his racing incident with the Williams. George Russell was undergoing similar emotions during the race. He lost out positions quickly and it was evident that things were just not working out for the Silver Arrows this weekend.

Carlos Sainz also lost two places from his starting position in the final standings. He was unlucky in the race strategy today. There was a chance for the Smooth Operator to finish higher but the wrong timing of safety car made a mess of his race strategy.
Isack Hajdar and Yuki Tsunoda finished ninth and tenth respectively. Hadjar was able to reproduce yet another points finish by capitalising on his qualifying position. Tsunoda on the other hand made a massive recovery from a pit-lane start to a points finish this weekend.
The Imola Grand Prix was not at all forgiving for the rest of the drivers on the grid. Alonso who had a great qualifying yesterday could not even claim one point this weekend. Nico Hulkenberg found himself out of points after showing good race pace early on. Pierre Gasly was yet again unable to land his car in the top-10 due to another driver’s mistake.

Liam Lawson, Lance Stroll, Franco Colapinto and Oliver Bearman finished the Imola Grand Prix at the back of the pack. Antonelli and Esteban Ocon could finish the race due to mechanical failures.
nhl I work as a Writer at The Playoffs specialising in NHL, Formula 1 and Motorsports. I got into online journalism a couple of years ago. I used to be an intern for a website managing their Formula 1 content and then I served an entire year as a contractual writer.
Read moreFor me, online journalism was not something I expected. I am a Mechanical Engineer aiming to join Formula 1. At the same time, I am a poet, writer and my university’s Literary Club Lead. One day the dots connected together and I realised I could use my writing skills to convey my passion for Motorsports.
The biggest aspects I love about my role are- Scuderia Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel. When I am not fawning over them I like to convey my opinions to the public, in a manner which helps them gain a new point of view. I love helping people explore new ideas about Motorsports and obviously get recognised as a writer all over the world.
