The Oilers and Panthers begin their quest for the Cup tonight!
The Florida Panthers and the Edmonton Oilers get set for game 1 of the best-of-seven Stanley Cup Final later tonight. The two teams are fairly well matched, and despite not having the best regular season records in their respective conferences, both the Panthers and Oilers have looked like the teams to beat in this postseason.
While it was pretty much smooth sailing for the Oilers with comfortable wins over the Los Angeles Kings, Vegas Golden Knights, and the Dallas Stars, the Panthers’ road to the Final was a little nerve-wrecking in the second round. The Toronto Maple Leafs took them to game 7, before Florida took care of the Carolina Hurricanes to reach the final.
The excitement has built up, and now it is almost time for game 1, so with that, let us find out more details on how to watch the 2025 Stanley Cup Final.
Will the Panthers become the latest team to go back-to-back? 🏆

Ironically, the 2024 Stanley Cup Final was played between the same two teams, the Panthers and the Oilers. Florida took complete control of the series, going up 3-0, before Edmonton came roaring back to tie the series 3-3 and send it to a do-or-die game 7. In the ensuing game 7, the Panthers won 2-1 to clinch a franchise-first Stanley Cup.
The Oilers are on a revenge mission and are also eyeing the 6th Cup in franchise history and their first one since 1990, while the Panthers are looking to secure their second with the aim of becoming back-to-back Champions.
nfl I am a content writer for the NFL team, and joined The Playoffs after working with Sportskeeda and NFL Analysis as an NFL writer. After starting my professional career as a French-to-English translator, working as a content writer is a new adventure for me. I started out in the sports media field for two main reasons: my love for sports in general, especially the NFL, NBA, and Tennis, as well as my passion for writing. The best part of this job is that I get to write a variety of pieces with the freedom to explore content from various angles. It also enables me to stay up to date with the sporting world, which otherwise can be difficult to do in the day-to-day grind. In a world full of chaos, sports unite and entertain like nothing else!
