The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup is only four days away from commencement, and the excitement for the revamped tournament will blow off the roofs of the stadia in the United States of America.
Group F of the 32-team tournament features one team each from four different confederations, as Ulsan HD (AFC), Mamelodi Sundowns (CAF), Fluminense (CONMEBOL), and Borussia Dortmund (UEFA) will fight for the two available spots in the group to reach the knockout stage.
In the 2024-25 Bundesliga season, Borussia Dortmund had a middling season as they fought back to claim the last available UEFA Champions League spot on the last day of the league season. The Black and Yellow were also knocked out of the second round of the DFB Pokal and lost 5-3 to Barcelona in the Champions League quarter-final to end the season trophyless. The Dortmund-based club has signed Jobe Bellingham ahead of the transfer window deadline and would be hoping that the midfielder follows in his elder brother’s footsteps as he has signed a five-year contract at the club.
Fluminense is having a decent season as they have made it to the Round of 16 in both Copa do Brasil and Copa Sudamericana and are placed fifth in the Serie A table. The Rio de Janerio-based club will hope to use the experience of Thiago Silva and Ganso and mix it with the exuberance and dynamism of Jhon Arias, Hercules, and Riquelme to qualify for the next round of the tournament.
Ulsan HD has won the Korean League in the last three seasons and currently sit third in the K League 1 while Mamelodi Sundowns FC comes into the tournament on the back of the loss in the final of the CAF Champions League which would have certainly dented their confidence as they are set to play world-renowned clubs like Borussia Dortmund, Fluminense, and Ulsan HD. Here is the full list of odds as per FanDuel:
Borussia Dortmund: -1200
Fluminense: -430
Ulsan HD: +340
Mamelodi Sundowns FC: +600
