Connor McDavid will be on the last year of his contract next season
One of the gems of modern-day ice hockey is the captain and center of the Edmonton Oilers, Connor McDavid. The 28-year-old has been lauded by NHL legend Wayne Gretzky as the next ‘Great One’, for reasons well known to all hockey fans.
Currently playing in the Stanley Cup Final once again, McDavid wants nothing more than to lift the cup, having failed to do so in 2024, when the Oilers lost in Game 7 against the Florida Panthers. The Cup is the one true trophy missing from his trophy cabinet, which consists of several other awards and honors.
But while fans may know him for his incredible talent, leadership, and jaw-dropping moments on ice, let us explore a little more about his life off the ice, including his net worth, career earnings, and endorsement deals.
As per the Celebrity Net Worth website, Connor McDavid’s net worth is listed as $30 million as of June 2025. Most of his net worth has been accumulated through his career earnings in the NFL, while brand endorsements have also played their part in increasing his overall net worth.

As per Spotrac, throughout his nine seasons in the NHL, McDavid has earned a total of approximately $95.6 million from his professional hockey contracts with Edmonton. The Ontario native was selected first overall by the Oilers in 2015, and since then has been playing for the same franchise.
In 2015, he signed a three-year rookie deal worth $11.325 million, which included an average annual salary of approximately $3.7 million. In 2018, Edmonton signed him to an eight-year extension worth $100 million, with an average annual salary of $12.5 million.
The 2025-26 season will be McDavid’s last year on the current contract, and there is no doubt he will earn a massive extension once again from the Oilers before his contract runs out.
Off the ice, McDavid has grown his net worth with the help of brand endorsements such as BodyArmor, Canadian Imperial Bank, Adidas, BetMGM, Rogers Communications, Upper Deck, Alo Yoga, and more. As per reports, the 3-time Hart Memorial winner earns approximately $5 million annually from his endorsement deals.

Adidas has been one of McDavid’s longest-standing endorsements. He signed with the apparel company back in 2015, his rookie season in the league. Although not verified, there is a good possibility that he remains with Adidas even today.

I am a content writer for the NFL team, and joined The Playoffs after working with Sportskeeda and NFL Analysis as an NFL writer. After starting my professional career as a French-to-English translator, working as a content writer is a new adventure for me. I started out in the sports media field for two main reasons: my love for sports in general, especially the NFL, NBA, and Tennis, as well as my passion for writing. The best part of this job is that I get to write a variety of pieces with the freedom to explore content from various angles. It also enables me to stay up to date with the sporting world, which otherwise can be difficult to do in the day-to-day grind. In a world full of chaos, sports unite and entertain like nothing else!
