Caitlin Clark Effect: Fever-Brazil Game Smashes WNBA Attendance, Price Records With Iowa Homecoming

The Caitlin Clark effect is in full display ahead of the 2025 WNBA season. The 23-year-old is one of the fastest rising stars in the women’s basketball landscape. Indiana Fever, who are into their pre-season, played an exhibition game against the Brazil national team. The game drew massive demand, with Caitlin Clark featuring.

Fever hosted Brazil at the Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa on Sunday night. This is also Caitlin Clark’s home court, as she spent most of her college career at the Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Fans were excited to see the superstar return to her roots after a long time.

It was with the Iowa Hawkeye that Caitlin Clark first caught the eye of basketball enthusiasts with her top performances. Now, after almost a year, the fans witnessed the on court return of Caitlin Clark in Iowa. The demand and the price of tickets for the Sunday night’s exhibition game went through the roof.

The cheapest tickets for the match stood at $200 per seat. The visibility is usually not the best on such seats, but despite all the shortcomings, those tickets as well were instantly sold out due to high demand. Such tickets were also available on resale platforms at much higher rates.

While, the front row seats were being sold at a premium rate of almost $700. According to the Game Insights via Vivid Seats, the average sold ticket price for the exhibition game was $670. This is the highest in WNBA history since tracking began in 2015. The attendance for the Indiana Fever vs. Brazil was at 14,998. And almost every row at the arena had a No. 22 jersey to honor Clark’s time at Iowa.

Caitlin Clark Shines as Fever Run Riot

Indiana Fever came out with a dominating 108-44 win against the Brazil national team. They rained three’s from all angles. Caitlin Clark was at her usual best, and she scored her first basket with a three pointer with just 32 seconds inside the first quarter. The beyond the arc shot was greeted with a rousing cheer from the Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

She scored 16 points, collected six rebounds, and had 5 assists to lead her side into a momentous victory. Caitlin Clark missed the Fever’s first pre-season game against Washington Mystics with a left leg injury. She featured in action for a total of 19 minutes on Sunday.
