The Western Conference Semifinals between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Denver Nuggets will get going on Monday, May 5 at Paycom Center. The Thunder are coming off a four-game sweep over the eighth seeded Memphis Grizzlies. On the flip side, the Nuggets had to play entire seven games to get the better of the Los Angeles Clippers. While it was a lop-sided win for the Western Conference table-toppers, the Nuggets secured a hard-fought win in undoubtedly the most exciting first-round series.
Talking about their respective campaigns, the Thunder had a historic regular season with a 68-14 record, the best in the league. After securing the top seed in the West, the Thunder headed into the postseason as heavy favorites to go all the way. They finished the season with the third-best offense rating of 119.2, and the best defensive rating of 106.6.

Their star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander finished the regular season as the top scorer. Maintaining an average of 32.7 points per contest, he has a +/- of 12.1. The 26-year-old single-handedly won numerous games for the side. He is a key reason, the Thunder have had a memorable season. Gilgeous-Alexander is a finalist for the MVP 2025, along with Nikola Jokic, and Giannis Antetokounmpo. In addition, he and is a heavy favorite to bag the title.

Talking about the Denver Nuggets, they finished fourth in the regular season standings with a win-loss record of 50-32. The 2023 champions are aiming to repeat their heroics and take home another title. Despite firing head coach Michael Malone and GM Calvin Booth, the Nuggets have a championship team. Their icon, Nikola Jokic, is their biggest strength and it wouldn’t be easy for the Thunder to get past him effortlessly.
It will be fierce contest as two titans- Nikola Jokic and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will battle it out in a best-of-seven series. The winner will lock horns with the winner of the Golden State Warriors-Minnesota Timberwolves series in the Conference Finals.
