From iconic UFC intros to poker rooms and brand deals, Bruce Buffer’s fortune goes far beyond “It’s time!”
Bruce Buffer, 68, is the official octagon announcer for the UFC and one of the most recognizable voices in combat sports. Known worldwide for his electrifying catchphrase “It’s time!” before every UFC main event, Buffer brings a signature flair and authority to the promotion’s biggest moments.
An American mixed martial arts ring announcer, Buffer holds a black belt in Tang Soo Do and has competed as a kickboxer. Buffer is also the president and CEO of The Buffer Partnership, a business venture originally founded by his half-brother Michael Buffer. Often introduced on broadcasts as the “Veteran Voice of the Octagon,” Buffer is part of the sport’s identity.
A reminder that Jon Jones is one of only three fighters to be introduced by Bruce Buffer as ‘The one, the only!’ 👏

Bruce Buffer’s net worth is estimated at $12 million, per Celebrity Net Worth. Best known as the iconic voice of the UFC, Buffer has also worked across boxing, other MMA promotions, and even the World Series of Beer Pong. Beyond the mic, he’s a skilled poker player who’s featured in ESPN’s World Series of Poker and Poker After Dark.
The Luxor poker room in Las Vegas is named after him, and in 2010, he famously opened the WSOP final table with his signature call: “Shuffle up and deal!” He’s also made various appearances in films and TV shows.
People ask if I rehearse before a show, which I never do. I like to warm-up in the Octagon to be ready to roar, especially before the Main Events such as here at UFC 288. When I'm about to announce our Octagon Warriors I put myself mentally and physically into my own Bufferzone… pic.twitter.com/G5YjoCkO15

Bruce Buffer’s total career earnings are not available from authentic sources, but he does earn $100,000 per event, as per Sporting News.
He announced a number of fights at UFC 8 (1996) to begin his career in the UFC, and after UFC 13, he hosted every event. Buffer told Front Office Sports that he told the UFC executives, “I’m a brand-builder. I’ve been in martial arts since I was 12. I realized that that was my world. You’re going to get a lot more than an announcer. I’ll do everything I can to help grow the sport. I feel like a girl waiting to be asked to the prom. I’ll help you build this brand, and I’ll grow with you as the announcer.”

mma I’m an academic turned sports writer from Raipur, India, specializing in the NFL, MMA, and tennis at The Playoffs. I previously wrote for Sportskeeda and hold a B.A. and M.A. in History. My journey into sports media began far from the field, rooted in the arts and sciences. Funny enough, I didn’t grow up a sports fan; I used to see it all as just noise. But a fateful writing job introduced me to the world of sports, and what began as a gig quickly became a passion. I understood those voices aren’t noise; they’re emotions of true sports fans, and now I am one of them, writing with the same energy I once questioned.
