Winner to face Sabalenka or Siegemund in the SF.
One of the only seeds to survive in her quarter of the draw, Amanda Anisimova of the United States of America faces the veteran Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova of Russia in the 2025 Wimbledon Championships quarterfinal on Tuesday. Both players came through challenging Round of 16 clashes to confirm their spot in the last eight. Can the 23-year-old continue living out the American dream?
Amanda Anisimova has one title in 2025 – at the Qatar Open in Doha. The youthful sensation also reached the final of the HSBC Championships at Queen’s Club before Wimbledon, and made the semifinal at her home event in Charleston. Anisimova has gone 29-12 this season, which includes a fabulous 10-2 run on grass. Having confirmed a Top-10 entry in the ranking after the Championships, Anisimova’s wins over Putintseva, Zarazua, Galfi and Noskova hold her in good stead.

In some sense, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova has turned party pooper at the 2025 Wimbledon Championships. The 34-year-old veteran stopped Naomi Osaka’s grass court comeback in Round-3, before knocking home favourite Sonay Kartal out of the competition in the Round of 16. The World No. 50 is searching for her first title of 2025, and wins nearly 40% return games on this surface to back it up. She beat Tomljanovic, Krueger, Osaka and Kartal en route to the last eight.

Amanda Anisimova has a dominant 3-0 head-to-head record vs Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, ahead of their Wimbledon 2025 QF.
Anisimova and Pavlyuchenkova faced each other once in 2018, and twice in 2024. While the American had answers to everything that the elder-statesman threw at her in the first two encounters, Pavlyuchenkova gave her a real run for her money in the most recent match-up.

It will be a baseline dominated affair on Tuesday, as two groundstroke giants will trade blows. It has been nearly a decade since Pavlyuchenkova last made the Wimbledon QFs, and she has newfound determination and form at the moment. However, there is a sense that Anisimova is a similar player, but with younger legs and more accuracy. There is no doubt that it will be a tight affair decided by whoever manages to stay calm on their own serve.
Prediction: Amanda Anisimova in three sets.
According to the implied probability on the money line, Anisimova starts with a 70% chance of winning this match. She is also the betting favourite in the odds market, compared to the underdog Pavlyuchenkova. Here are all the odds (as per BetMGM):
