The race in Hungaroring has finally come to and end after 1.5 hrs and 70 laps of racing action. There was no chaos between the cars during the initial laps. However, as the racing conditions changed and the pitstops started coming in, the top order changed rapidly. At the end of the race, McLarens found their way to another 1-2 finish.
George Russell will be a happy driver even though he had some scary moments with Charles Leclerc in the final stages of the race. The Hungary GP was able to provide a lot action in front row. However, the midfield was rather stable today. The cars behind P4 could not bring forth many overtakes and were simply relegated far from the podium finishers. The Grand Prix gave many teams disappointment today, including the pole sitters- Charles Leclerc and Scuderia Ferrari.

Lando Norris was our best long shot for winning the race in Hungary. The Briton has had a surge of confidence recently. Even though, he was starting from P3 Norris was able to stay out on track and manage his tyres well enough to create a good lead. In the final moments of the race, the growing pressure of Oscar Piastri’s dive-bombs did not falter his racing line. Norris was angry as the back markers who he felt ruined his race, but ultimately he gets to lift the trophy at Hungaroring.
Oscar Piastri did well today. He started P2 and kept managing his tyres well enough to not let Leclerc get away with a huge gap. At one point, he had to chase Leclerc and overtake him to finally bring the fight upto his teammate. Piastri still has the lead of the championship. However, the battle has become rather intense with both teammates almost equal in standings and podiums.
However, one of the best drivers from Hungary was none other than George Russell. The Briton took his Mercedes from P4 and crept all the way from 7s behind Charles Leclerc. The Ferrari of Leclerc was never able to stop Russell from advancing. In one swift move, Russell took away the podium from Charles Leclerc and was never seen again.

Ferrari and Charles Leclerc will be terribly distraught. One of his finest pole laps from yesterday’s qualifying session was no good today. Charles drove an amazing race for the first two stages. However, Ferrari misjudged their strategy and ultimately, Leclerc lost his lead and podium. He wasn’t too confident about claiming the podium and his predictions came true today.
Fernando Alonso was at risk before the Grand Prix weekend. The driver was supposedly facing injuries which could render him unable to participate. Yet, Alonso went forth and brought in a P5 finish for the Aston Martins. He was never in contention for a podium but there was no doubt that Alonso would let his position slip away so easily today.
Gabi has been absolutely phenomenal this weekend. The Brazilian driver converted his best qualifying finish into his best race finish today. He is also the Driver of the Day for being able to manage on track and gain one position to bring P6. The cherry on top of the cake is that he finished right behind his mentor, Alonso.
Aston Martin were the best cars in the midfield today. A successful Hungary GP brought forth a lot of points for the team with a P5 and P7 finish. Lance Stroll may have lost a position but the team has a lot of positives to look forward to before the summer break. Liam Lawson was the better driver out of the Red Bull camp. He finished just ahead of Max Verstappen. Lawson brought some good points to the Racing Bulls. The same can’t be said of the defending driver’s champion.
P6 IN HUNGARY! 🙌

A career best result for @gabrielbortoleto — his best ever qualifying AND race finish! 🦋🏁#HungarianGP pic.twitter.com/zNzr6mw0DC
Max Verstappen was almost absent from the spotlight in today’s race. At this point, his bid for the championship is seemingly over. A P9 finish is definitely not what he deserves or looks forward to every weekend. Mercedes also found another driver in points today. Kimi Antonelli was able to overtake comfortably and end the streak of no-points finish he was facing recently. Overall, the top-10 is full of smiling faces in the underdog teams and a lot of disappointment in others.
The Drivers who were starting out of points for the Hungary Grand Prix could not improve their results by a huge margin. The back-markers include, Isack Hadjar and Lewis Hamilton in P11 and P12. Nico Hülkenberg made some progress to bring forth P13 after his initial penalty for jumping the race start. Unfortunately, both Williams finished out of points in P14 and P15.

The likes of Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly could not do much for their teams and stayed among the last finishing drivers. As far as Yuki Tsunoda’s race goes, let’s just say, he has had better days before getting promoted to Red Bull Racing. Oliver Bearman was the only driver who was unable to finish the race having withdrawn in the final stages.

One day the dots connected together and I realised I could use my writing skills to convey my passion for Motorsports.
The biggest aspects I love about my role are- Scuderia Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel. When I am not fawning over them I like to convey my opinions to the public, in a manner which helps them gain a new point of view. I love helping people explore new ideas about Motorsports and obviously get recognised as a writer all over the world.
