Cooper Kupp's bold new look channels the iconic "Undertaker."
If Thursday night turns out to be Cooper Kupp’s last game with the Los Angeles Rams, the Super Bowl 56 MVP definitely made it one to remember.
Returning for his first game since Week 2 against the Arizona Cardinals, Kupp came off the injured reserve to catch five passes, covering 51 yards and scoring a touchdown in the Rams’ win on Thursday Night Football.
After the game, he sat down with SportsCenter’s Scott Van Pelt. Van Pelt couldn’t help but ask Kupp about his new look, noticing the bangs and beard: “We can’t see your eyes…what are we doing?”
“I’m going with the Undertaker thing,” Kupp replied, adding with a laugh, “And I was just too lazy to throw my hair back.” It certainly made a statement!
With both Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua back in the lineup, the Rams seemed reenergized, leaving them to rethink any trade ideas involving Kupp. After all, this win could suggest they have a shot in the NFC West playoff race. The Vikings, meanwhile, may need to reassess their own strategy going forward.
Kupp’s return came after a four-game break due to an ankle injury, but he made his mark with five receptions for 51 yards and a touchdown. This strong performance came amid trade rumors that have been circulating all week, possibly quieting them after the Rams’ strong showing against the Vikings.
Earlier in the season, as the Rams fell to a 2-4 record through the first six weeks, Dianna Russini of The Athletic reported that Los Angeles had “called multiple teams” to explore trading Kupp for a second-round pick before the Nov. 5 trade deadline. If the trade does go through, here are 5 potential landing spots for Cooper Kupp.
The 31-year-old addressed the trade talk when speaking with reporters on Tuesday.
“I’m aware of it, but at the end of the day, I mean, I’m going to be where my feet are,” Kupp stated, via ESPN’s Sarah Barshop.
