WWE RAW will make a move from cable TV to Netflix in January 2025
The WWE is entering a whole new era with Raw on Netflix. The promotion’s flagship show will begin streaming on Netflix in January 2025 and as one would assume, there is a lot of anticipation surrounding it.
As per reports, WWE will enhance the viewership experience as the promotion will mark a shift from cable television. While there is no confirmation on it yet, it is rumored that the first episode of Raw on Netflix will take place at The Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California. The news was first reported by WrestleVotes Radio.
The Intuit Dome is a newly constructed arena and is the home of the NBA side LA Clippers. Take a look at the clip for inside the arena below:
It is safe to say that the arena would be a perfect venue for RAW’s shift away from cable TV. However, official news about the same is yet to be awaited.
In September this year, it was announced that RAW will be 2 hours through the end of the year. The show’s run time was reduced starting from October 7th. While fans speculated the potential reasons behind it, the real reason for the same was the completion of the original broadcast contract for the program.
The contract was extended till the end of the year but the run time was reduced. As per reports, RAW will return to the three-hour format when the program shifts to Netflix in January 2025. Moreover, the nature of streaming will allow WWE to be flexible with its run-time.
That said, it remains to be seen as to how the move turns out for the promotion and if it could indeed mark a new era for the WWE.
