The second episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown in 2025 comes after the historic event of RAW’s Netflix Premiere. WWE SmackDown returned to three hours after initially moving to a two-hour format for the latter part of the year 2024. WWE SmackDown started its new year with a new WWE Women’s Champion when Miss MITB Tiffany Stratton cashed in her contract against Nia Jax.

DIY also retained their Tag-Team titles against Motor City Machin Guns owing to an interruption from Los Garzas and Pretty Deadly. Cody Rhodes got his hands on Kevin Owens after Drew McIntyre interrupted his promo. While Netflix Premiere created sensations across the globe, we can expect the same from Friday Night SmackDown.

WWE Friday Night SmackDown will stream live from Moda Center, Portland, Oregon on Friday, January 10, 2025, at 8 pm ET. The Moda Center has a capacity of holding 20,500 crowd which is huge considering 17,514 fans attended RAW’s Netflix Premiere.

Shinsuke Nakamura will defend his WWE United States title against LA Knight. The Megastar got his hands on Shinsuke Nakamura after the latter defended his title against Andrade. LA Knight gave a brutal beating to the WWE United States Champion to continue his rivalry with Shinsuke Nakamura.

These two superstars have been at each other’s throats since Shinsuke Nakamura returned to WWE. Shinsuke Nakamura started playing mind games with LA Knight and attacked him twice on consecutive SmackDown episodes. The former United States Champion was then scheduled to defend his title against Shinsuke Nakamura at Survivor Series: WarGames. LA Knight lost his championship to Shinsuke Nakamura firing up their rivalry even more.

It is also rumored that the newly crowned WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton defend her title for the first time. There are good chances that she might have to defend the title against the former champion Nia Jax.
