WWE Superstar John Cena confirms retirement timeline, believes the WWE is in good hands!

John Cena hints at winning the Royal Rumble 2025 to get his title shot.

A 16-time world champion, John Cena is a global superstar who has earned much respect in the WWE and worldwide. Known for his “Never Give Up” attitude, the ‘Fast X’ star is loved by every WWE fan. Every WWE superstar has praised the Legend for his hard work and commitment towards World Wrestling Entertainment.

John Cena announced that he would retire from WWE post-December 2025 and that the RAW Netflix Premiere would be the first event of his retirement tour. He also stated that this year’s Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber would be his last. Cena also revealed that WrestleMania 2025 would be the last big event that he would compete in.

John Cena thinks it would take a miracle for him to be WWE Champion

John made his much-awaited return at the Netflix Premiere of Raw, just as promised. He acknowledged the crowd and was reluctant on not going for a title shot. He claimed that giving him the opportunities for the sake of his retirement would be an injustice to the talent of the locker room.

He didn’t see him becoming a champion at this age and thought giving him opportunities would be bad for business.

John Cena claimed that his time is up and he is not going to be a 17-time world champion. His announcement was met by a loud “No” from the crowd. He said that it would take a miracle for him to win a WWE Championship at this age and he has a better chance at winning an Oscar.

John Cena hints at winning the Royal Rumble!

John Cena mention it has been more than 6 years since he won his last match and with a streak like this, you either need to win the Money in the Bank, survive the elimination chamber, or win the Royal Rumble.

John revealed that the upcoming Royal Rumble 2025 will be his last. He said previously he was just going to enter it, but now he is going to win it for his fans. He thanked his fans stating, that because of them, he is going to win the Royal Rumble!

Cena thinks WWE is in ‘Good Hands’

John, in his post-show interview, stated that he wanted to take a realistic look at all things as he has turned 48. It will be a long shot for him to win the WWE championship. He stated that WWE has so many great young superstars so it’s time to move on as business has been great to him.

The WWE superstar mentioned that it’s hard to go from bottom to achieve a title shot. He doesn’t want to demand a title shot as it would be unfair to current WWE superstars and audiences.

People might see him as an ambassador role in WWE after December 2025 but he would no longer compete in the ring. People would see him as a WWE official in a suit after December 2025.

He stated that business is in good hands and many superstars in WWE can carry the mantle forward now. He also praised WWE officials for taking WWE to new heights.
