The 25-year-old CB is set to make $18.4 million per year which will make him the 12th-highest-paid cornerback in the National Football League. Lenoir has been a saviour for the 49ers in the NFL this season, collecting two interceptions, 53 tackles, six pass defences and one forced fumble in nine games. Lenoir has allowed a passer rating of 66.5 when targeted as the nearest defender.
San Francisco picked a talented cornerback in the fifth round of the 2021 draft. Lenoir has made 41 starts in 56 career games. Playing his fourth NFL season, the 25-year-old cornerback has six picks, 233 tackles, 23 passes defended, one sack and a forced fumble.

Deommodore Lenoir took just nine games to become one of the highest-paid players in the league. The 49ers CB is one of the most versatile players in the NFL. This deal has solidified San Francisco’s defence and gonna be a strategic move to retain their best player for the future. Lenoir recently scored his first touchdown by returning a fumble 61 yards and his stats in 2024 put him ahead among top cornerbacks.
The 49ers have already monitored the situation of cornerback and Pro Bowl performer Charvarius Ward who will hit free agency in March. San Francisco could not afford to lose their two main cornerbacks heading into the spring next year. Ward was not supposed to be retained as Lenoir was the frontrunner in the future plans.
Running back Christian McCaffrey, fullback Kyle Juszczyk, left tackle Trent Williams and edge rusher Nick Bosa are currently the highest-paid at the 49ers. San Francisco can now offer the extension to Young guard Aaron Banks as he’s also set to hit free agency in March. The 27-year-old has become one of the better guards in the NFL and 49ers cannot lose him ahead of the new season.
