C.J. Stroud’s Texans jersey becomes NFL’s top-seller in 2024 season

Stroud's breakout season isn’t just winning games—it’s winning over fans, too.

C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans might not have had their best moment this weekend after letting a 16-point lead slip away against the Detroit Lions on Sunday. But Tuesday brought the young quarterback some good news: the 23-year-old now holds the top spot for NFL jersey sales through October.

The NFL Players Association recently released the year’s top 10 jersey sellers, and it’s no surprise that quarterbacks lead the pack. C.J. Stroud sits at No. 1, followed by rookie QB Caleb Williams of the Chicago Bears at No. 2, with Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes holding the third spot.

C.J. Stroud and Williams leading the pack isn’t surprising

Stroud’s performance this season has been nothing short of remarkable. In 2023, he transformed a struggling Texans franchise into a playoff contender in his rookie year, becoming one of the NFL’s breakout stars.

Williams entered the NFL with a wave of excitement as one of the most highly anticipated draft prospects in recent years. He represents the best hope the Bears have had at quarterback in a long time. Despite a rocky season for Williams and the Bears, his youth and potential still promise a bright future.

Mahomes’ place in the top ranks seems secure. Already a household name, the Kansas City superstar boasts three Super Bowl titles by the age of 29. And with a perfect 9-0 record so far this season, the Chiefs are once again eyeing a championship.

Detroit Lions fans rally behind their stars

The Detroit Lions have kept the momentum alive from their storybook season last year, now standing strong with an 8-1 record. They also boast two players in the top 10 for jersey sales: defensive lineman Aidan Hutchinson at No. 4 and wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown at No. 6.

The Lions are riding a seven-game win streak, with St. Brown finding the end zone in each of those games. Meanwhile, Hutchinson has racked up 19 tackles and 7.5 sacks in just five games, though his season was cut short due to a fractured tibia and fibula.

Rookie QB Jayden Daniels, drafted second overall, quickly emerged as the favorite for Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Furthermore, he has thrown for 2,147 yards and nine touchdowns, adding 464 rushing yards and four touchdowns on the ground. Moreover, His game-winning Hail Mary play in Week 8 against the Bears remains a season highlight.

The Commanders, at 7-3, are enjoying their best season in years, holding second place in the NFC East.

To round out the top 10 best-sellers list, a few veteran stars made the cut: Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb took No. 7, even as his team battles through a challenging season. He has totaled 681 receiving yards, 59 catches, and four touchdowns.

MVP contender Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills secured the No. 8 spot, with Minnesota Vikings’ star wideout Justin Jefferson at No. 9 and Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby completing the list at No. 10.
