Lamar Jackson is setting the league on fire, with Micah Parsons backing him as the clear MVP favorite.
Lamar Jackson’s performance on the field this year has been nothing short of phenomenal. The Baltimore Ravens have gained the most from his efforts, sitting at a 7-3 record and positioned to take the lead in the AFC North, thanks largely to Jackson’s outstanding play.
The two-time NFL MVP is making a strong case for his third title, already surpassing or matching several of last season’s impressive stats. In his 2023 MVP run, Jackson logged 3,678 passing yards, 24 touchdowns, and seven interceptions, adding another 821 rushing yards and five scores.

Jackson is clearly on fire, with 15 touchdowns and a single interception over his last five games. His dominance has captured attention across the league, including from Dallas Cowboys pass rusher Micah Parsons. During The Edge with Micah Parsons, the two-time All-Pro commented that this year’s MVP race isn’t close, calling Jackson the clear leader for the award.
Parsons is convinced that Lamar Jackson deserves the MVP title. He’s choosing the Baltimore Ravens star over Mahomes and Jared Goff.
“I mean, right now, as we’ve seen the throws, what Lamar is doing right now, it is not even incomparable,” Parsons said. “Lamar should be the clear front-runner for MVP. This is, by far, his best season since I’ve been in the league since I’ve seen him. He’s just looked unstoppable, he’s confident, his receivers seem confident. Just everything about them just seemed way more confident, man; Lamar, just that guy.“
“You say the person below him is probably Goff. You know, Goff and Mahomes, but no one’s touching Lamar right now; that win against the [Cincinnati Bengals,] wow. I mean, I think that was a great weekend of football. … And, you know, these quarterbacks are just lighting up right now. So, you know, shout out to Lamar.”
This season, Jackson has arguably been the best quarterback, outperforming even his MVP-winning campaign from last year. In 10 games, he’s thrown for 2,669 yards, 24 touchdowns. Jackson also scored just two interceptions, achieving a career-best 69.1% completion rate and a stellar 123.2 passer rating.
He trails only Joe Burrow in total passing yards. He is tied with the Bengals’ quarterback for the highest number of passing touchdowns this season.
