Goldberg and Gunther to collide for the WWE Heavyweight Championship.

One of the most dominant legends of the past will face the bully of recent times. Ring General, Gunther, and Da Man, Goldberg, will collide at Saturday Night Main Event for the WWE Heavyweight Championship. This will be Goldberg’s retirement match, and what’s better than leaving as a WWE Heavyweight Champion in your hometown?

Gunther is known to have a big mouth, the reason for which he lost his Championship at WrestleMania 41. He again got into a tangle with one of the GOAT of all time, Bill Goldberg, when he called him a coward on Monday Night Raw. Goldberg was in no mood to talk tonight when he entered the ring and threw a Punch a Gunther straightaway after throwing his mic. He set up for a Spear, but Gunther managed to escape.

The rivalry between Gunther and Goldberg, however, didn’t start here, but the seeds of this rivalry were sown a long way back. Goldberg and his family were quietly enjoying wrestling from the barricade when Gunther thought it would be a good idea to mock Goldberg. He called him a “One Trick Pony.” He didn’t stop there as he turned his attention to Goldberg’s son, Gage.

Gunther quoted, “My only wish for you is that Bill is a better father than he is a professional wrestler”.

His remarks made Goldberg jump the barricade to confront him, but the officials stopped him. Goldberg, in an interview, already announced that Gunther would be his final victim. This will be Goldberg’s retirement match, and he will make sure to punish Gunther for his sins.

Gunther would retain his WWE Heavyweight Championship title against Goldberg. Goldberg will lose his last match in WWE, giving yet another push to Gunther and establishing his dominance. Goldberg hasn’t been in the ring for nearly 41 months, and ring rust is more affecting at his age. History is also not on Goldberg’s side, as retirement matches usually don’t work well for the retiring stars.
