Ashish Negi

The Street Profits became the new Tag Team Champion on their road to WrestleMania.

It was not long ago when Johny Gargano turned on his friend Sabin from Motor City Machine Guns to win the WWE Tag Team Championship. The DIY attacked Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford to keep them out of the title hunt and placed themselves in the match against MCMG. They have successfully defended their title by hook or by crook against MCMG, Pretty Deadly, and Los Garza.

The Street Profits returned to WWE and helped DIY defend their title at the Royal Rumble by attacking MCMG. They attacked the DIY when they were celebrating their victory. The Street Profit put the entire SmackDown Tag Team division on notice, stating they are after the Tag Team gold. They attacked #DIY and Pretty Deadly during their match and dominated MCMG when they came to help.

The Street Profits became the two-time WWE Tag Team Champions.

Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano fought hard to save their championship, but the Street Profits conquered everything they threw at them. Both teams took turns to dominate the match as it went to near stalemate numerous times. The Barcelona crowd was behind each move and high-flying maneuver they performed. The match was worthy of the SmackDown Main Event as the crowd got their money’s worth.

DIY attempted their fairytale ending on Angelo Dawkins, but he somehow kicked out of the pin attempt. They were so close to victory that Wade Barrett called it the weakest kickout in the history of the WWE. Diy went for Meet in the Middle, but Dawkins ducked, and Johny Gargano accidentally hit Tommaso Ciampa. Dawkins delivered a spine buster to Gargano, and Montez Ford followed it up with From the Heavens to win the match.
