WWE SmackDown Result: Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre locked horns after a verbal altercation on Friday Night SmackDown

Randy Orton is a legend who holds the record for the most PPV appearances in WWE history. The 14-time world champion told Cody Rhodes that he wanted to win the 15th WWE Championship and would come for his title. He was heaping praises on the current WWE Undisputed Champion when Drew McIntyre interrupted him, and both of them had an altercation.

Drew McIntyre warned Randy about his bad back and said he didn’t do anything after returning from injury to earn a championship match. Randy went for an RKO but Drew McIntyre managed to escape. WWE announced that Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton would face each other in a match later on SmackDown.

Drew McIntyre defeated Randy Orton owing to an interruption from Kevin Owens

Drew McIntyre took advantage of Kevin Owens’s distraction and delivered a Claymore to Randy Orton to win the match. The match between Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre was evenly poised. Neither of them was able to show complete dominance over the other. Drew McIntyre paid the price initially for being overconfident but soon gained momentum by going after Randy Orton’s back.

Drew McIntyre tried to dominate the Legend Killer by attacking his back but Randy utilized his experience and turned the tables so much so that it was all but over for Drew McIntyre. The Viper set up for an RKO but his killer instincts sensed Kevin Owens’s presence by the ringside. This distraction helped Drew McIntyre to deliver a claymore to Randy and pin him.

Kevin Owens pulled Randy out and set up to deliver a Package Piledriver over the announce table to him but Randy pulled his leg. Kevin Owens lost his balance and was on the floor when The Viper set up for a Punt Kick but the former managed to escape once again. Randy Orton and Kevin Owens would face each other at WrestleMania.
