HBK Shawn Michaels to moderate the contract signing between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens at Saturday Night Main Event.
Friday Night Smackdown started with Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio acknowledging his home crowd. Rey Mysterio announced that he would enter the 30-Men Royal Rumble. He became the eighth member after John Cena, Roman Reigns, CM Punk, Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre, Jey Uso and LA Knight. Rey announced that this will be his last Royal Rumble and he is doing it for Eddie Guerrero.
Kevin Owens interrupted Rey Mysterio and told Rey that there is no one in WWE he respect more than him. He wished that Rey win the Royal Rumble and asked Rey to pick him for a title match at WrestleMania. Rey mocked K.O. that he is not the champion yet which made Kevin snap and they both had a verbal and physical altercation.
Nick Aldis was fed up of a stopping Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes and none of them wanted to sign a contract. He announced that the contract signing between Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes will be moderated by HBK Shawn Michaels at the Saturday Night Main Event.
Naomi and Bianca Belair defend their Tag Team title
Candice LeRae and Nia Jax pose a challenge to the current Tag Team champions Bianca Belair and Naomi. It was one of the most brutal matches for Bianca Belair as 90% of the match was a two-on-one assault on her. The challenger played the game in and outside the ring as they kept Naomi out for most of the match. EST had to fight Nia Jax and Candice LeRae inside the ring and bear the punishment.
The Tag Team champs showed why they were champs and paced up their attack. Bianca tried to pin Candice but Nia performed a body drop to break the pin but missed Bianca and hit Candice instead. It was all but over as Candice LeRae took a Bubba Bomb from Naomi and she pinned her to retain the Tag Team title.
Jimmy Uso and Carmelo Hayes match ended in DQ
Jimmy Uso and Carmelo Hayes were part of the most physical match. Jimmy Uso showed his experience and gained the upper hand during the initial stages of the match. The match between these two superstars went to near stalemate many a time but neither of them were ready to give up. Jimmy performed a spear on Carmelo Hayes and was setting up for Uso Splash when Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga interrupted the match. The match ended up in disqualification.
Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga has been after Jimmy Uso for the second consecutive episode. They beat Jimmy Uso brutally and brutalization stopped with the entry of Solo. San Diego didn’t allow Solo to speak and he left the arena. Jacob Fatu took the mic for the first time. LA Knight entered and get his revenge on Tama Tonga and Jacob Fatu for an interruption during his championship match last week. Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga started a two-on-one assault started on the Megastar. Braun Strowman entered the ring and made the save.
MCMG vs Los Garzas
Los Garzas defeated Pretty Deadly and MCMG defeat A-Town Down Under last week. These two team took everything out of each other. Numerous pin attempts but all of them were kicked out. The match was laced up with many spine chilling moves. Both teams took chance to dominate the match and gain momentum.
The match was evenly poised until Pretty Deadly entered the ring trying to hand over the win to Los Garzas but it backfired. Their interruption was too long and this gave Motor City Machin Guns to regroup and pin Humberto Carillo to win the match. They will now face DIY for the Tag Team Championship.
B-Fab vs Piper Niven
Michin was talking to B-Fab about how Piper Niven helps Chelsea win everytime when Chelsea and Piper Niven entered. B-Fab and Piper Niven had an altercation backstage which resulted in a match. B-Fab showed great skills when she dominated Piper during the match. It seemed that she would win the match easily but Chelsea’s presense outside the ring cost her the match.
She got distracted by Chelsea and landing straight into the body drop. Piper pin B-Fab to win the match. Chelsea and Piper started a two-on-one assault on B-Fab but Michin entered with a Kendo Stick to make the save.
Rey Mysterio vs. Kevin Owens
Kevin Owens and Rey Mysterio had an altercation at the beginning of the show which resulted in a match. This was the first time that these two superstars face each other. It was a match between the experience of Rey Mysterio and power of K.O. Both these superstar looked fired up. The match between them bought the crowd to the edge of their seats.
Numerous nail biting moves were performed by them on each other and match went to near stalemate. K.O. hit a stunner to Rey but the latter kicked out. Rey later delivered a 619 to K.O. and set up for a frog splash. Kevin hit referee and referee hit the rope. Rey who was on the top rope lost his balance and K.O. performed a Pop-up Powerbomb to won the match. It took everything in K.O. power to defeat Rey Mysterio.
K.O. was going for perform a Pile Driver on Rey Mysterio but Cody Rhodes enter and save Rey. Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens started a brawl again officials had to stop them.

Tiffany Stratton defend her title successfully against Bayley
Bayley became the #1 contender for the WWE Women’s Championship after defeating Nia Jax, Bianca, and Naomi in a fatal four-way. The Seven time WWE Women’s champion utilized her experience to a great deal when she kicked out of the moves no one had. Tiffany Stratton who was defending her title for the first time faced fierce competition from Bayley.
Both Divas took their opponent to the brim of their strength and were ready to go to extreme lengths to hurt each other. Bayley and Tiffany both had their moments in the match. They kept fighting inside and outside the ring but neither of them gave in. Current WWE Women’s Champion hit Bayley with a Cartwheel Alabama Slam followed by Prettiest Moonsault Ever and retained her title.
