WWE Evolution: Becky Lynch Retains The WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship in a Hard Fought Match

Ashish Negi

Becky Lynch successfully defends her title in a triple threat.

Becky Lynch today retained her title in what was a match worthy of starting the WWE Evolution. She pinned Bayley to retain the title. Bayley delivered a Rose Plant to Lyra Valkyria and was about to pin Lyra Valkyria, but Becky Lynch pinned her from behind. The match was so intense that it drained all three women to the last bit of their strength.

The match went to nearfall so many times, but each one of them made sure to stop the other from scoring a pin. They planted each other with their finisher numerous times, but such are the rules of triple threat that there is always one to rain on your parade. This match might have stopped the debate of who’s the best for WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion, but the rivalry between the three women lives on.

Becky Lynch vs. Bayley vs. Lyra Valkyria, History You Know vs History You Don’t

Becky Lynch fought against Bayley and Lyra Valkyria in a triple threat tonight to defend her title. These three women have had a lot of history between them. Becky Lynch returned to action at WrestleMania 41 to help Lyra Valkyria against the Judgment Day. They defeated Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez to capture tag team gold. They, however, lost the title to the former champions in 24 hours.

Becky Lynch brutally assaulted Lyra after the match, and it was later revealed that she was the one who attacked Bayley before her WrestleMania match. The rivalry between Lyra Valkyria and Becky Lynch started, and while Lyra was able to retain her title at WWE Backlash, Becky Lynch dethroned Lyra Valkyria at Money in the Bank.

Bayley returned to WWE and attacked Becky Lynch, and got a title match against Becky Lynch. Lyra Valkyria, however, unintentionally cost her the match when she attacked Becky Lynch. Bayley and Lyra Valkyria fought to become the #1 contender, but they both lost the match, setting up the triple threat match for the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship.
