WTA Ningbo Open 2025 – Prize Money, Schedule, Draw & Where to Watch

The 2025 WTA Ningbo Open will be played between 13-19 October, 2025 in Ningbo, China. It is a women’s tennis tournament which is worth 500 points in the rankings. Played on the outdoor hard courts of the Yinzhou Tennis Center, the Ningbo Open is a crucial inclusion in the Asian hard court swing towards the end of every season.

This year marks the eighth edition of the Ningbo Open. The women’s event was previously part of the WTA-125K series, before converting to a WTA-250. In 2024, Ningbo earned the promotion to become a WTA-500 level competition. There are 28 singles competitors and 16 doubles pairs fighting for the championship in 2025.

Russia’s Daria Kasatkina is the women’s singles defending champion at the 2025 Ningbo Open. She defeated compatriot Mirra Andreeva in last year’s final to lift the trophy. However, she will not defend her crown in Ningbo this year, as she pulled out before the start of the tournament. Coming to women’s doubles, Demi Schuurs and home favorite Yuan Yue won the 2024 edition.

WTA Ningbo Open 2025 Prize Money

The total prize money commitment for the 2025 Ningbo Open is $1,064,510. This marks a 15% hike from the previous edition of the tournament.

WTA Ningbo Open 2025 Draw

World No. 6 Mirra Andreeva is the top seed at the 2025 Ningbo Open. The Russian prodigy has received a bye in Round-1, and is likely to face Emma Raducanu in a blockbuster Round of 16 encounter. Karolina Muchova/Diana Shnaider and Ekaterina Alexandrova are likely to obstruct her path to the final. Meanwhile, second seed Jasmine Paolini is set to take on Veronika Kudermetova in the pre-quarterfinals. Belinda Bencic and Elena Rybakina are the other tricky competitors in the same half.

No. 3 seed Elena Rybakina needs to win in Ningbo to keep her hopes of qualifying for the WTA Finals alive. The Kazakh powerhouse has received a bye in Round-1, after which she will face either Victoria Mboko or Dayana Yastremska. Meanwhile, No. 4 seed Ekaterina Alexandrova completes the list of seeds who will progress directly into the Round of 16. Her first opponent will be one of the home favorites – Yue Yuan or Xinyu Wang.
