Tuesday recap from West London.
Round of 32 action at the 2025 Queen’s Club Championships WTA-500 continued on Tuesday, with several British stars taking to Andy Murray Arena and Court-1. Some of the biggest names on the circuit – including former US Open champion Emma Raducanu, former Top-25 powerhouse Katie Boulter and Russian southpaw Diana Shnaider – managed to win their respective encounters. Here’s what went down:
British title hope Emma Raducanu played one of the best matches of her 2025 season to dominate Spaniard Cristina Bucsa in straight sets, in just over an hour. The 22-year-old raced off the blocks, and Bucsa had no answers to her opponent’s fiery groundstrokes. Raducanu, the 2021 US Open champion, converted 4/ 5 break points to emerge victorious and progress into the Round of 16. She will face Rebecca Sramkova in her next encounter.
Result: Raducanu def. Bucsa 6-1 6-2.
In the upset of the day, 2024 Wimbledon winner Barbora Krejcikova was knocked out by Slovakian star Rebecca Sramkova. Krejcikova has been dealing with back problems since the end of last year, and it has kept her out of competition in 2025 too. The Czech veteran failed to find her range, and got tangled up in her own footwork, to remain stuck on just one victory this year. On the other hand, Sramkova’s impressive 78% win percentage on first serve earned her a clash against Raducanu.
Result: Sramkova def. Krejcikova 6-4 6-3.

The British duo of Katie Boulter and Heather Watson experienced contrasting victories on Tuesday afternoon. The former came up against the famous ‘Serena Slayer’ in the form of Ajla Tomljanovic. It was a humdinger of a contest that lasted close to two and a half hours. Contrarily, 33-year-old Watson sustained herself with some compact tennis to outlast an erratic Yulia Putintseva.
Results: Boulter def. Tomljanovic 7-6(4) 1-6 6-4 ; Watson def. Putintseva 6-4 6-3.

No. 5 seed Diana Shnaider also glided into the Round of 16 with a straightforward win over Magdalena Frech of Poland. After a tight opener, the 21-year-old Russian showcased her leftie power. She subjected Frech to a breadstick in the second set, denying her any possibility of a comeback.
Result: Shnaider def. Frech 6-4 6-1.
The action resumes on Wednesday, with crucial Round of 16 ties on the cards. Australian Open champ Madison Keys will be in action, alongside fellow American Emma Navarro. Meanwhile, top seed Zheng Qinwen opens her Queen’s account on Thursday.
