WNBA Most Valuable Teams Ranking: Is Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever the New Financial Giant?

Akash Vaishnav

From dominant dynasties to breakout franchises, here's how the top WNBA teams stack up in 2025.

The WNBA is growing faster and the management has done commendable work with their product in the recent years. Franchises across the board are witnessing a massive spike in revenue generation. Let’s look at the most valuable WNBA sides.

Undoubtedly, the first spot is occupied by the New York Liberty. They are worth $400 million according to Forbes. Liberty have been by far the most successful team on the court, having won the championship last year. The second place belongs to the Indiana Fever.

No franchise has made bigger headlines in 2025 than the Indiana Fever, thanks to one superstar. The way the franchise has managed to turn around under Caitlin Clark is game-changing. Since they got their hands on the former Iowa guard, Fever has been sharply rising in the market.

Their latest valuation has surged to $370 million, fueled largely by the Caitlin Clark phenomenon.
While the third most valued WNBA franchise remains Seattle Storm at $330 million. On the fourth in the list is the Las Vegas Aces who have been a dominant force in recent years. They are valued at $310 million.

WNBA Viewership In Jeopardy

The overall ratings and viewership of the WNBA league has been seriously affected due to the absence of Caitlin Clark. The Indiana Fever point guard suffered a quad injury on Memorial Day. She has since been out trying to recover from the mild injury.

Last season, the WNBA averaged 670,000 viewers per game, but that figure has now dropped to 555,000. Even the Indiana Fever games that drew an average of 581,000 when Caitlin Clark played recently fell to 357,000. This sharp dip highlights the clear absence effect caused by Caitlin Clark’s injury layoff.

The Fever clocked 581,000 viewership when Clark and the Fever played the Dream. Just after a few days when the 25-year-old star wasn’t available, the viewership during Fever vs. Mystics dropped by 40% to 357,000.

I cover NBA at the Playoffs. I specialize in covering breaking news, Previews, in in-depth analysis (breaking down numbers, complex stats, nuances of the game, and converting them into reader-friendly content). Furthermore, I got into the sports media while looking for an entry into the media industry. I love International Relations, and since entry without majoring in the subject was difficult, I got into sports. Now, while majoring in International Relations on one side, I also like covering sports as part of the journey as a young Journalist.
