Who is Jannik Sinner’s Current Coach? A Look at the Italian’s Current Coach Ahead of 2025 French Open Final

Sankalp Harikrishnan

Who has guided the World No. 1 to success?

Jannik Sinner will aim to justify his ranking and stamp his authority on the ATP Tour, when he takes on No. 2 seed Carlos Alcaraz in the 2025 French Open final on Sunday. Since the beginning of the tournament, pundits and tennis faithful had predicted the iconic match-up in the summit clash. While the Italian is gunning for his first Roland Garros championship, his Spanish counterpart is looking to go back-to-back and retain his crown.

When it comes to clay, Alcaraz sits on the throne of supremacy. The 22-year-old won the French Open title last year, as well as the Olympic silver medal. Sinner has an inferior 4-7 record against Carlitos – losing their last four battles on the trot. However, they are yet to face one another in the final of a Grand Slam event. Known for his big-game mentality, the World No. 1 has all the weapons needed to torment Alcaraz.

It took several years for Sinner to mold his game into what it is today. With nimble footwork and ruthless groundstrokes, he is practically an immovable force of nature from the baseline. Behind this perfectionist that we are blessed to witness, is a team of hard working coaches and staff. Let’s take a look at Jannik Sinner’s coach:

Jannik Sinner Current Coaches

Darren Cahill and Simone Vagnozzi are the head coaches of World No. 1 Jannik Sinner. Cahill is an Australian former professional tennis player turned coach. During his time as a player, he won two singles titles and also reached the Australian Open final in men’s doubles. The 59-year-old has coached a plethora of high profile names – including Andre Agassi, Lleyton Hewitt, Simona Halep and Sinner himself. He is a 6-time Grand Slam winner as a coach.

On the other hand, Vagnozzi is of Italian descent. He began working with Sinner in 2022, when the prodigious talent started rising up the ranks. He recently spoke about the top seed’s impeccable return after a temporary suspension. “We watch a lot of tennis, and he keeps getting better,” he said. “He has only played 10 matches since his return, and he has already exceeded all expectations.”

At the beginning of the 2025 season, Jannik Sinner announced that Darren Cahill will not continue with him after the culmination of the ongoing season. It will draw the curtains on a partnership that lasted three years. Amid recent rumours that Carlos Moya will replace him, the Spaniard has denied all the reports.

Who Was Jannik Sinner’s Previous Coach?

Jannik Sinner was previously coached by fellow Italian Riccardo Piatti. The now 66-year-old has worked with the likes of Novak Djokovic and Milos Raonic in the past. During the three-time major champion’s developing years between the ages of 13 and 20, it was Piatti who carved a path for Sinner to succeed. In 2022, the rising star chose to end the collaboration with Piatti – a decision that continues to befuddle the senior statesman.

“After Jannik, I admit that I had a few months of confusion,” he accepted in early 2025. He provided shocking insights into his split with Sinner. “I stopped living the life of others. 52 weeks a year on the road, family revolving around the player’s needs. [But] he had a grudge against me for things on the pitch.”

Who Manages World No. 1 Jannik Sinner?

Jannik Sinner is currently managed by AVIMA Sports & Business Management. He made the switch to this company in 2025, which ended a long-standing association prior to this. The firm is led by Alex Vittur and came at a crucial juncture of the Italian’s career. He was serving a temporary suspension during the time of the change.

StarWing Sports was the management group in charge of handling Sinner’s day-to-day business before the arrival of AVIMA. His ex-agent, Lawrence Frankopan, worked alongside him for many years before the unexpected decision to split. “Given my long term commitments to StarWing Sports, I was unable to accept their offer to work exclusively for AVIMA, but I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work for a talent like Jannik,” Frankopan stated.
