Who is in Aryna Sabalenka’s Box for the US Open 2025 Final? All About the Coaches & Boyfriend of the World No. 1

Sankalp Harikrishnan

Sabalenka guns for glory in her 7th Grand Slam final.

Top seed and defending champion Aryna Sabalenka will take on reigning Wimbledon runner-up Amanda Anisimova in the US Open 2025 final. The Belarusian powerhouse has lost to an American at all the majors so far this year, and will be desperate history from repeating itself on Saturday. Provided she can see off the challenge of Anisimova, Sabalenka will retain her trophy and win a fourth Grand Slam title. However, she will not be able to do it alone.

One of the big reasons for Aryna Sabalenka’s consistent success on tour, is the supportive team that backs her. Across her victories over Masarova, Kudermetova, Fernandez, Bucsa, Vondrousova and Pegula, the 27-year-old was bolstered by the guidance and reassurance of her box. While they are strictly professional on the court, her entire team has formed a family-like fun bond off the court. Here’s what you need to know about the box of World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka.

The Coaches and Support Staff of Aryna Sabalenka

The main member of the Aryna Sabalenka box is head coach Anton Dubrov. They began working together in 2020, and the Belarusian has tasted widespread success under his guidance. Prior to this, Dubrov was also Sabalenka’s hitting partner. “I want to keep working with him just because I feel much better when I’m with someone who knows me well. I don’t have to overthink. It really affects my focus because I ended up expending energy on other things.”

Fitness coach Jason Stacy has also played a vital role in keeping Sabalenka healthy for tournaments. The American has been working with the three-time major champ for numerous years now, and is a constant in her box. He has worked in sports and massage therapy as well as strength and conditioning for over 25 years. “I’ve helped athletes get to World No. 1 or become world champion in four sports now. Two different martial arts – jiu jitsu, judo, then swimming and tennis.”

Finally, hitting partner Andrei Vasilevski will complete the staff representation in the Sabalenka dugout. Vasilevski is a Belarusian tennis player who turned pro in 2009, and practises with the 27-year-old on a daily basis. After Sabalenka won her first major, he wrote, “I was lucky enough to be part of the team and watch the ups and downs. Yes, there were moments where you thought you couldn’t succeed. There were doubts, but no matter what, you continued to do what was needed to succeed, believed in it and today you absolutely deserve it. You are the Grand Slam champion!”

Boyfriend – Georgios Frangulis

Aryna Sabalenka and Georgios Frangulis started dating back in 2024. Since then, he has been seated in Sabalenka’s box more often than not. Frangulis is from Brazil, and is the founder of Oakberry. He was born and raised in São Paulo and his family is from Greece. Frangulis, who turns 37 two days after the US Open, eventually moved to the USA.

“There was a really tough period where I was really happy to have him by my side – always cheering me up, always making sure that we are doing some fun stuff,” Sabalenka said in an interview with People. “But I make sure [that] I kind of forget about tennis and focus on the good things and enjoy life. Even when things are going wrong in my career.”

Data Scientist – Shane Liyanage

A less frequent, yet very important member of Aryna Sabalenka’s box, is data scientist Shane Liyanage. The strategy and insights consultant uses data to help with coaching decisions and alterations. He is the founder of Data Driven Sports Analytics – a company that collaborates with multiple athletes – including Sabalenka.
