The T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada hosts tonight’s fights. This state-of-the-art venue has become the premier destination for UFC’s biggest events. With a capacity of over 20,000 screaming fans, the electric atmosphere adds another dimension to championship bouts. The T-Mobile Arena has witnessed numerous iconic UFC moments since opening in 2016, and tonight’s card may add another chapter to its storied history.
The main event pits light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira against Magomed Ankalaev in what could be Pereira’s toughest test yet. Many experts believe Ankalaev’s grappling could be the kryptonite to Pereira’s striking dominance. However, Pereira has shown remarkable improvement in his takedown defense. We are however leaning toward Alex Pereira to retain his title via knockout in the early rounds.
In the co-main event, Rafael Fiziev looks to avenge his 2023 loss to Justin Gaethje. Taking this fight on just ten days’ notice after an 18-month layoff presents significant challenges for Fiziev. Meanwhile, questions surround Gaethje’s durability following his brutal knockout loss to Max Holloway at UFC 300. Opinion is split among experts, with some favoring Fiziev’s technical striking while others believe Gaethje’s pressure will overwhelm Fiziev late in the fight. However, we are going with Justin Gaethje to win via decision in the later rounds.
Other notable bouts include Jalin Turner facing Ignacio Bahamondes in what promises to be a lightweight striking showcase. Both fighters stand 6-foot-3 with impressive reach, suggesting a technical kickboxing match. We are picking Bahamondes to win via KO in the third round. In the women’s strawweight division, rising prospect Iasmin Lucindo takes on former title challenger Amanda Lemos in a fight that could determine the next contender in the division. We are picking Lucindo to win via Unanimous Decision.
Mauricio Ruffy vs. King Green also promises to be a barnburner. The veteran vs. the new blood. We are picking Ruffy to win the fight via KO in the early rounds. The heavyweight clash between Curtis Blaydes and Rizvan Kuniev rounds out the prelims. We are picking Blaydes to win via KO in the second round.
