‘I Believe So’ – Alex ‘Poatan’ Pereira Agrees on the UFC’s Biggest Star Claims!

Eric Divakaran

If you are a UFC fan, it’s almost impossible not to know who Alex Pereira is. He’s some of the biggest superstars in the UFC currently and it is not just about his fighting skills inside the octagon but also the way he carries himself and his personality. Here are some of the reasons why he may just be the face of the UFC;

List of reasons why Pereira is the Face of the UFC!

  • Championship Success- Pereira captured the UFC Middleweight belt in just four fights into his UFC career, by knocking out Israel Adesanya at UFC 281. He then moved up to light heavyweight and conquered the division by winning the lightweight title, by defeating Jiří Procházka at UFC 295. Winning two titles in two different divisions, under two years, puts him in a league of him own.
  • Knockout Power- If you didn’t know, Pereira’s nickname “Poatan,” comes from the Tubi language which translates to “Stone hands,” in English. He’s knocked out some of the high-profile names like Adesanya, Strickland, Hill, with that devastating left hand. His knockout highlight reel is must-see T.V.
  • Storylines and Rivalries: Poatan’s rivalry against Adesanya earlier in his career was well known across the UFC. He beat Izzy the first time but lost against him in the rematch, which created a great storyline and a whole lot of drama which everybody loves.

  • Constant fights: Pereira is not the one to shy away from fights. Unlike other UFC stars who like to delay or even duck some of the fighters, Pereira is always ready to fight his opponents. It does not matter who it is, he wants all the smoke!

He’s a true superstar and he has every right to call himself the face of the UFC.

What did Poatan have to say about his status in the UFC?

When a reporter asked Poatan if he believes he’s the face of the UFC and the star of the promotion, to which he replied “Yes.” Pereira continued “I believe so. I had a busy year last year with great success. So I just keep doing the work and I’ve gotta believe so.”

I cover the National Football League and things cannot get better than that. I always dreamed to play football or basketball professionally since I’m built like a Running Back. But now that I can’t, since I’m technically in the “Unc” age, I thought why not pick a career in sports industry? So here I am, doing what I love, and hoping that the Commanders win the Super Bowl. I give love to players when it’s due, but can be critical about their performances at the same time. Enough about me, now let my articles do all the talking.
