‘Pereira Could Fight the Winner’ – Dana White Announces the Winner of Jones vs. Aspinall Will Fight Poatan!

We are still not clear as to when Jon “Bones,” Jones will fight Tom Aspinall, as Dana White has still not decided the date and venue. However, White revealed that he wants the fight between the two to happen, sometime in the upcoming summer.

A little background check on Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall

Jon Jones is considered to be one of, if not, the greatest fighters in UFC history. After all, he’s been in the UFC since 2008 and has fought pretty much every heavyweight/light heavyweight UFC hall of famer we know of. Till this day, Bones has remained dominant which is crazy to think about. Recently, he took down Stipe Miocic and still remained the heavyweight champ.

After the fight, he revealed that he’s done fighting dangerous up and coming fighters like Aspinall and is more interested in fighting already established fighters such as Alex Pereira. While Aspinall really wants a title shot against the G.O.A.T, Bones has remained dismissive towards the Britt. Jones also revealed that if he is to fight Aspinall, he’d only do it if it’s a big pay day for him.

Meanwhile, Tom Aspinall won the interim belt in 2023, after Bones had suffered an injury which kept him out for a year. He even went as far as to defend the interim title against Curtis Blaydes in UFC 304. However, we all know that he wants the real title and the only way to get that is by defeating Jones. He’s been eager to fight Jones and be the only fighter to actually take him down, even if it’s against an old Jon Jones.

Tom Aspinall says that Jon Jones is “playing games” and wants to fight “42 year old” Stipe Miocic instead:

“I spoke to Jon Jones online, privately, personally, publically. There’s not a lot more I can do.

In the midst of all this chaos, Dana White added another shocking news and said that the winner of the potential Aspinall vs Jones fight, will fight another great fighter. Let’s see who that is.

Dana White says the winner of Bones vs Aspinall fight could fight Poatan!

Dana White has been busy and is planning a lot of fights that people want to see for 2025. As mentioned earlier, White is determined to make the fight between Bones and Aspinall happen. However, to add more twist to the story, he also revealed that Alex Pereira could climb up to the heavyweight division and take on the winner of Bones vs Aspinall fight.

When White was asked the question, if Jones is going to fight this summer, he replied “The plan is to fight Jon this summer. Obviously, when, where, and all that stuff is being determined and yeah.” White continued “My goal this year is to make that fight (happen).” When White was asked who he wanted Bones to fight, he replied “Aspinall.”

Alex Pereira has plans to move up to heavyweight division

White talked about Alex Pereira’s upcoming fight in UFC 313 this weekend and potentially fighting the winner of Bones vs Aspinall. “The Pereira fight is this upcoming weekend. This guy wants to move up to heavyweight and fight at heavyweight too.”

White was also asked about if Pereira wins his fight against Ankalaev in UFC 313, could he move up and fight Jones? UFC’s President replied “He (Poatan) wants to. Let’s see how this fight (UFC 313) plays out. The fight that everybody wants to see is Jones vs Aspinall and then there’s no doubt that Pereira could fight the winner.”
