The UFC has delivered countless memorable moments over the years. From brutal knockouts to stunning submissions, fans have witnessed it all. But what happens when the fights are happening and nobody can watch them? That’s exactly what occurred during UFC 313.

Viewers around the world found themselves fighting a different battle – with their streaming service. This wasn’t the first time either. UFC 304 faced similar issues when random NFL graphics and robotic voices interrupted the broadcast. Back then, Dana White brushed it off as ESPN’s problem. But now, with the issue repeating itself, fans aren’t accepting technical difficulties as an excuse anymore.

The reaction on social media was swift and merciless.

X user Sean Bennett revealed that the PPV’s were down only. The streams he was referring to are the illegal streaming sites. Those sites seemed to work perfectly! This is a matter of concern for the UFC team.

Marvin Vettori, Brendan Schaub Furious On ESPN’s UFC 313 PPV

Former UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub was among the first public figures to sound the alarm. When someone with Schaub’s connections and platform can’t access the event, it signals major problems behind the scenes. He seemed to have issues with streaming the live event.

Marvin Vettori, who is set to fight next week also posted. His frustrated post came shortly after Schaub’s post, confirming that even active UFC fighters were experiencing the same issues as regular fans.

Why Was UFC 313 Content Unavailable?

The broadcasting problems highlight a growing disconnect between the UFC’s ambitions and its infrastructure. The promotion continues to expand globally, but if it can’t reliably deliver its product to paying customers, that growth may hit a ceiling. Fight fans are a forgiving bunch – they will sit through endless prelims and questionable decisions – but asking them to pay for something they can’t watch might be where they draw the line. Dana White often talks about the UFC being “in the business of solving problems.” Well, here’s a big one that needs solving before UFC 314!

The problems started early on fight night. Fans reported being unable to purchase the pay-per-view through ESPN+, the exclusive provider of UFC PPV events in the United States. Others who had already bought it couldn’t access the stream. Error messages popped up, loading screens froze, and customer service lines jammed with angry calls. As of yet, the reason for the glitches in the PPV system is unknown. We will know more in the coming time about what happened.

The timing couldn’t have been worse for the UFC, with the highly anticipated light heavyweight title fight between Alex Pereira and Magomed Ankalaev headlining the card. Many viewers had invited friends over, prepared food, and cleared their schedules for the big event, only to stare at error messages instead of fights.
