Tyreek Hill apologizes, confirms Miami loyalty.

Tyreek Hill has clarified his commitment to the Miami Dolphins after comments made at the end of the regular season stirred controversy. Hill, frustrated after the Dolphins’ Week 18 loss to the Jets, hinted that he might explore other options in the offseason. However, the star wide receiver has since walked back those statements.
Ty Hill explains his frustration
In a video game live stream earlier this month, Hill admitted his post-game comments came out of frustration. On the Up & Adams Show, Hill made his intentions clear:
“I don’t want to go nowhere. I love [Miami], my family loves it,” he said. “It’s an amazing thing, man. We are really building something special in Miami. We made it to the playoffs the first two years. Obviously, this year was hard. If guys continue to buy in to what coach is building and the culture that he’s trying to build, it’s going to be an amazing thing.”
Hill was visibly upset when he left the Jets game early, once it became clear the Dolphins would miss the playoffs. It marked the first time in his career he missed the postseason. Hill acknowledged that his impulsive remarks were a mistake:
“I could have handled the situation better… I wish I did. But in the heat of the moment, I just said whatever I had to say.”
Injuries and a dip in performance
Hill’s production took a hit this season. He recorded 81 catches for 959 yards and six touchdowns—his lowest receiving yardage since 2019. His 56.3 yards per game were also the worst since his rookie season. The absence of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who missed six games due to injury, contributed to the decline.
Despite the tough season, Hill emphasized his bond with Tagovailoa and issued a public apology:
“Tua, he’s my guy — always will be, no matter what. I’m sure he understands my frustration… This is my public apology to you, Tua. I love you, bro.”
Clearing the air with the Dolphins
Hill said he had important conversations with head coach Mike McDaniel and veteran teammates, including Terron Armstead, Jalen Ramsey, and Raheem Mostert. McDaniel described their end-of-season talk as necessary to clear up any misunderstandings:
“Me and coach’s exit interview was very intense… it gave me insight into exactly how he sees everything. As one of his leaders, man, I can’t put my head coach through that. He already has enough things to worry about.”
Hill restructured his contract last offseason, securing $106.5 million in guaranteed money through 2026. Despite the rocky finish to the season, he remains optimistic about the Dolphins’ future under McDaniel’s leadership.
