The WWE is moving towards its Money in the Bank: Los Angeles event in June 2025. The Stamford based company is conducting the qualification matches for the men’s and women’s division in both Raw and SmackDown.

Triple H, the WWE’s chief content officer has announced a blockbuster tag team match for the event on June 7, 2025. This WWE tag team match, though, has a connection to WWE’s Saturday Night Main Event on May 24, 2025. Jey Uso And John Cena Get In a Backstage Altercation

The beginning of the upcoming tag team match started with an interaction between John Cena and Jey Uso. This happened at Saturday Night’s Main Event XXXIX on May 24, 2025. John Cena started the altercation by saying it’s been a long time since he last saw Jey Uso. Jey Uso also agreed with the same saying he threw John Cena out of the ring the last time they met at the Royal Rumble in 2025 (via WWE on YouTube) –

John Cena then started on his sarcasm. He said that it would be wonderful if Jey Uso, who comes from a prestigious wrestling family, loses the World Heavyweight title to a YouTuber like Logan Paul. John Cena would take the Undisputed WWE Championship with him when he retires. That would certainly ruin wrestling. He then wished Jey Uso luck for his match saying he will be watching the match closely.

John Cena Attacks Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes Saves His Old Tag Team Partner

John Cena indeed kept a close watch on Jey Uso’s match against Logan Paul. He even interfered in the match and pulled the referee out. He even got inside the ring and started attacking Jey Uso himself (via WWE on YouTube)-

This is where Cody Rhodes made his WWE return. He rushed to the ring and started attacking John Cena. He finished off John Cena with a Cross Rhodes. Logan Paul was about to attack Cody Rhodes with brass knuckles. However, Jey Uso ended Logan Paul with a spear and a Frog Splash to retain his World Heavyweight Championship via pinfall.

Cody Rhodes then made the challenge to John Cena. He said that he had had enough of John Cena ruining wrestling. He wanted John Cena and Logan Paul to face him and Jey Uso, the World Heavyweight Champion in a tag-team match at Money in the Bank.

Triple H has since then made Cody Rhodes & Jey Uso vs John Cena & Logan Paul tag team match official through his X account. He has even called it to be a blockbuster match for Money in the Bank 2025.
