The WWE has completed their second Saturday Night’s Main Event show of 2025. It took place last night on May 24, 2025 at the Yeungling Center in Tampa. Florida, United States. The WWE notably restarted the event in December 2024 after it last took place in 2008.

The Saturday Night’s Main Event XXXIX saw several high quality matches including title defenses, surprise returns and as MITB match being announced. Let’s have a look at what transpired during Satuday Night’s Main Event on May 24, 2025.

Jey Uso Retains His Title With a Little Help From Cody Rhodes

Jey Uso had an altercation with John Cena before his title defense against Logan Paul. John Cena stated that it would be wonderful to see Jey Uso’s title around the waist of an YouTuber while John Cena takes his title with him once he retires. Then during the match, John Cena attacked Jey Uso and prevented from pinning Logan Paul. Cody Rhodes finally rushed to the ring to save Jey Uso. He ended John Cena with a Cross Rhodes. (via WWE on X)-

Jey Uso took care of Logan Paul with a spear and won the match with a pinfall. Then, Cody Rhodes declared tag team match between him and Jey Uso vs John Cena and Logan Paul at Money in the Bank (via WWE on X) –

John Cena Defeated R-Truth Once Again Through Cheating

John Cena resorted to his ususal low-blow and hitting his opponent on the face with the title to defeat R-Truth (or was it Ron Cena?). However, there was a point when during the match when the old John Cena seemed to resurface. He gave the title to the referee. However, the heel version took took over again and then the match ended as it usually does these days (via WWE on X) –

Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker Win The Match With a Potential New Ally

CM Punk and Sami Zayn dominated the tag team match against Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker in the early stages. However, Bronson Reed returned and everything changed after that.
