Nick Chubb made a memorable comeback in his first game back from injury.
The Cleveland Browns stunned the Pittsburgh Steelers with a 24-19 victory on Thursday night. A major storyline entering the game was Nick Chubb’s first matchup against Pittsburgh since his horrific left knee injury in Week 2 last season.
Chubb’s return was nothing short of heroic. He powered through heavy snow for a 2-yard touchdown run with 57 seconds left, securing the win for the Browns.
This touchdown was his 50th career touchdown, making him only the third Browns player after Jim Brown (106) and Leroy Kelly (74) to reach that milestone.
It was a historic night for the Browns who did a double over Steelers in the regular season for the first time in 20 years. The last time the Browns pulled off a sweep against the Pittsburg was during the 1999-2000 season.
Nick Chubb made his return 428 days after his injury and proved why he is still a key force in the Browns’ offense. He carried the ball nine times for 27 yards and scored his second touchdown of the campaign.
However, the Steelers did not go down without a fight, with Russell Wilson connecting on a late touchdown to Calvin Austin III. However, the Browns’ defense, led by Myles Garrett’s three-sack proved too formidable to overcome.
