Russell Wilson was talking during an interview with ESPN's Hannah Storm and discussed retirement plans.
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson talks about his future plans and shares a hint on potential retirement. The 35-year-old QB was talking during an interview with ESPN’s Hannah Storm where he showed his desire to play with the same determination in upcoming years.
Wilson is making a strong comeback with the Steelers this season and is eyeing more glories including the Lombardi trophies. The quarterback will turn 36 this month and feels, he can play well into his 40s. It means, we are not expecting any retirement news from the Super Bowl champion.
“I definitely want to play another five to seven years. That’s always been my goal. I’ve been fortunate to play 200-plus games and really not miss many. I feel great, I feel young, and I feel like I can still move around out there and make all the throws,” Wilson said to Hannah Storm during the interview.

Wilson raised his standard this season and he shared same thoughts during the interview. Wilson wants to win more and more. “So I think a big part of it too is just my focus right now is winning this week,” Wilson added. “And then hopefully winning the next one, and then one after that and one after that.”
Russell Wilson was released by Denver in March this year. He signed a new deal with the Steelers for a one-year worth $1.21 million. The 35-year-old quarterback showed great character on field after returning from a nagging calf injury which kept him out for six games of the 2024 season.
Wilson was replaced by Justin Fields who led the Steelers to four wins out of their first six games. He showed patience and returned to the practice. Wilson took over the starter position and it created a controversary as Fields boasted 1,106 passing yards and five rushing touchdowns but was replaced.
Last month, Wilson made his first start for the Steelers against the New York Jets, throwing for 264 yards, and two touchdowns in a 37–15 victory. His 264 passing yards were the most by a Steelers quarterback in his debut.
