St. Louis Blues lose defenseman Philip Broberg to leg injury, expected recovery 4-6 weeks.
It is anticipated that St. Louis Blues defenseman Philip Broberg will be out for four to six weeks due to an obvious injury to his right leg.
Coach Drew Bannister provided an update on Broberg’s condition on Monday, identifying it as a lower-body injury. Bannister described the prognosis as positive despite the severity of the injury initially.
“It could have been much more serious,” Bannister commented following the practice. I am pleased that he will return. The situation could have been more severe, but it isn’t. He was performing exceptionally well in hockey, so now the focus is on getting him back on the ice and back up to game speed. It will require some time, but I believe the player is genuinely pleased.

Broberg’s right leg was twisted at an uncomfortable angle after getting caught up with Toronto forward Mitch Marner in the second period on Saturday night. He grabbed onto his leg and required assistance to get off the ice.
The newest Blues player to be out with an injury is a 23-year-old Swede. The team is missing forwards Robert Thomas, Kasperi Kapanen, and Mathieu Joseph, as well as defensemen Nick Leddy and Torey Krug.
Thomas has a fractured ankle, whereas Krug will likely be out for the whole season following ankle surgery.
“I think our guys have done a real good job of stepping into those situations, You can’t necessarily expect somebody to come in and take over Robby’s job or Broberg’s job. You need it to be a team effort, and you need all 20 guys pushing in the same direction, playing the right way.” : Bannister said.
Scott Perunovich is expected to replace Broberg in St. Louis’ lineup, as they currently have a record of 6-6-0. Broberg was one of the top scorers on the team, tallying nine points after accepting an offer sheet this summer as a restricted free agent
“Now Prune’s able to step in and get an opportunity and we’re going to have to lean on these guys to play some good hockey for us, The group on the ice will get the job done while those guys are out. It’s an opportunity at making sure we’re doing the right thing, and we can’t just rely on one or two players to fill the spot. We need everybody on the ice pushing in the right direction.” : Bannister said.

nhl I’ve always loved writing and storytelling, and hockey gives me a perfect stage for endless stories to tell. Whether it’s breaking down a game, analyzing a big trade, or capturing the emotions on the ice, I bring the NHL to life through words. So what’s the best part you ask? Watching the action unfold and turning it into something fans can connect with. To my readers: Hockey is more than just a game—it’s the highs, the heartbreaks, and the moments that make us jump off our seats. So, keep cheering, keep debating, and never stop loving the madness of the sport!
