Roland Garros 2025 Prize Money Stakes Raised to Record $63.7M Purse; $2.9M to Champion

Rudra Dubey

Roland Garros 2025 sets all-time prize money record with $63.7 million purse.

The French Open 2025 has officially set a new benchmark in tournament payouts, with a record purse of $63.7 million (€56.35 million). This marks the highest total prize money in the tournament’s history. Both the men’s and women’s champions will take home approximately $2.89 million (€2.55 million) each, continuing the Grand Slam’s commitment to equal prize money.

It’s important to note that all USD figures are approximate, as they depend on fluctuating exchange rates with the Euro.

Growth Over the Years

This year’s purse reflects a 5.21% increase over 2024 and a staggering 64% jump from 2021, when total prize money dropped to $38.9 million due to pandemic-related cuts. Since then, Roland Garros has steadily boosted its payout each year: $49.3 million in 2022, $56 million in 2023, and $60.5 million in 2024. The tournament’s continued growth mirrors the broader financial rebound across the tennis tour.

The complete breakdown of the Roland Garros prize money distribution in 2025:

How It Stacks Up Globally

Roland Garros often ranks third among the four Grand Slams in prize money distribution, and that’s likely to remain true in 2025. Wimbledon and the US Open led the pack last year, offering $66.1 million and $75 million respectively. The Australian Open kicked off this season with over $60 million in total payouts. With those numbers already ahead of the French Open’s latest purse, fans can expect even bigger announcements from London and New York later this year.

The main draw at Roland Garros begins on May 25, with the tournament wrapping up on June 8. The women’s singles final will be played on June 7, followed by the men’s final on championship Sunday.
