Rey Mysterio Injury Update: Why didn’t Rey Mysterio Compete at WrestleMania 41

Rey Fenix replaced Rey Mysterio against El Grande Americano.

It shocked the world when the legend Rey Mysterio pulled out of his WrestleMania match today, even though it is his last WrestleMania. It was revealed that he was suffering from an injury and was medically not cleared to compete in the match. He sustained an injury on SmackDown when he was competing in a three-man tag team match with Rey Phoenix and Dragon Lee by his side.

Rey Mysterio, Rey Fenix, and Dragon Lee were against American Made and Chad Gable. Rey Mysterio, however, suffered an injury and was checked by the medical team at the ring side. He didn’t compete, but Dragon Lee and Rey Fenix somehow pulled a victory. It was today when he revealed he was medically deemed unfit to perform. Rey Mysterio announced his replacement for the match against El Grande Americano.

Who replaced Rey Mysterio against El Grande Americano at WrestleMania 2025?

Rey Mysterio announced that Rey Fenix will replace him for the match against El Grande Americano. The match saw some incredible moves from Rey Fenix. He dominated the match, carrying the Lucha legacy. He would have gotten his revenge on El Grande Americano for eliminating him in the Andre the Giant Memorial match, but the latter cheated his way to victory. El Grande Americano inserted a metal plate in his mask, which first injured Rey Fenix’s leg. He then delivered a head butt to Rey Fenix to win the match.

Rey Mysterio injured his leg, and WWE has yet to give an official statement on his injury, but it seems that the injury is not that serious. We might see him wrestle in a match soon.
