Rangers Interested in J.T. Miller Amid Canucks' Leave of Absence
The New York Rangers have “recently inquired” about trading for Vancouver Canucks forward J.T. Miller. Miller’s most recent game was on Nov. 17, but shortly after that, the Canucks revealed that he would be taking an “indefinite leave for personal reasons.”
Staple and Baugh labeled the investigation as “highly unlikely” because of Miller’s absence and his agreement. The forward, aged 31, is presently in the second year of a seven-year contract worth $56 million that he agreed to with the Canucks in 2022.
The Rangers tried to acquire Miller before the 2021-22 trade deadline, but the trade failed because New York refused to include Braden Schneider in the deal, according to Staple and Baugh.
