Preston vs Aston Villa Head-to-Head Record: Stats, History & Latest Results

Preston North End are the only remaining non-Premier League side at this stage of the FA Cup this season. They will now welcome Aston Villa at Deepdale in the quarter-finals on Sunday. Paul Heckingbottom’s men earned their spot in the last eight after a dominant 3-0 win against Burnley.

Whereas, Unai Emery’s side secured their place in the last eight with a 2-0 win against Cardiff City in the fifth round. Villa are still in contention for a remarkable domestic and European double. With Unai Emery at the helm, guiding them through the Champions League and FA Cup.

Meanwhile, Preston will look to defy history. The Championship side haven’t reached this stage since 1966. Hence, a win here will be a record for the team. However, Villa boast a strong record in FA Cup quarter-finals. Hence, it will certainly be a tough challenge for Preston.

However, coach Heckingbottom will have Milutin Osmajic available after recovering from his hip issue. However, he is under investigation for alleged racist abuse, so his availability is a doubt. Even so, Preston will aim to make the most of their home advantage against Villa who don’t have a lot of injury concerns.

Ollie Watkins has recovered from a minor knee injury and should make his return. Villa will miss Ross Barkley due to a knee issue and Axel Disasi who is ineligible, having played for Chelsea previously in the competition. Ezri Konsa and Tyrone Mings should start in central defense as Pau Torres is working on his way back to full fitness.
