How Much Prize Money Teams Earn for Winning FA Cup Quarterfinals?

The FA Cup quarterfinals will kick-off from today. With the international break over, clubs are gearing up for the crucial stage of the competition. Notably, apart from Manchester City, none of the Premier League giants have made it to the last eight, making this year’s tournament wide open.

Whereas, one Championship team, Preston North End FC, have qualified. The eight teams that will be fighting for the semifinal spot in the FA Cup are Fulham, Crystal Palace, Brighton, Nottingham Forest, Preston, Aston Villa, Bournemouth, and Manchester City.

Teams already receive prize money from the early rounds of the competition. However, from this round forward, the amount increases significantly. Now, lower-league teams that have held their ground until this point can benefit greatly from that money.

FA Cup Quarter-final Prize Money

The FA Cup 2024-25 quarterfinal winners will receive £450,000. From this stage forward, both winning and losing teams will earn prize money. However, teams eliminated in the quarterfinals will not receive any prize money.

Losing teams receive prize money in the first, second, and third rounds of the FA Cup. However, this stops from the fourth round onward, including the quarterfinals. Despite this, reaching the quarterfinals provides a financial boost, especially for lower-ranked teams.

For example, winners of the fifth round, just one stage earlier, earn £225,000. At the quarterfinal stage, the prize money doubles to £450,000. Advancing beyond this stage guarantees even higher earnings, regardless of the results.
