Fresh off his historic Ballon d’Or victory, Ousmane Dembele is now in talks with Paris Saint-Germain over an improved contract. Last season was nothing short of spectacular for the French winger. He helped PSG clinch a historic treble – winning Ligue 1, the French Cup and the Champions League. Individually, Ousmane Dembele contributed 35 goals and 16 assists in 53 matches.
His performances not only earned him the Ballon d’Or but also contributed to Luis Enrique receiving the Johan Cruyff Award for best coach. The 28-year-old winger became the first Frenchman in over a decade to win the prestigious award. Dembele collected a total of 1,380 points in the Ballon d’Or voting – more than 300 ahead of runner-up Lamine Yamal. The PSG star’s success crowned a career resurgence defined by maturity and consistency which transformed him from a mercurial talent into one of the most complete wingers in world football.
According to L’Équipe, Ousmane Dembele is now seeking a salary increase from his current €18 million annual wage. Dembele current deal runs until 2028, but PSG are eager to secure their talisman’s long-term future and avoid the risk of losing him on a free transfer. Since joining the club from Barcelona in 2023 for €50 million, Dembele has been instrumental in PSG’s dominance across Europe.
