PSG Star Leads Historic Champions League Run With Eight Goals and Unmatched Impact.
Paris Saint-Germain’s Ousmane Dembele has been awarded the 2024-25 UEFA Champions League Player of the Season honour. This capped off a phenomenal European campaign for the French winger. It saw him lead his side to their maiden Champions League title win with a historic 5-0 win against Inter Milan in the final.
According to the UEFA Technical Observer Group, Dembele’s leadership and relentless effort on both ends of the pitch were decisive throughout PSG’s triumphant run. UEFA stated:
“As well as his eight goals, Dembele has taken on the role of a leader… he worked so hard, pressing from the front. He created doubts for their opponents match after match with his clever movement.”

Dembele’s numbers back up his standout season:
Undoubtedly, Dembele had a steller season. Among his highlights were a hat-trick during their away game against Stuttgart. He also scored a vital opener against Manchester City, and decisive goals against Liverpool and Arsenal. In the final at Munich, Dembele provided two assists for Désiré Doué and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
He provided the assists while occupying a fluid false nine role that disrupted Inter’s structure throughout the night. Following the win, Dembele said: “It was incredible to reach the final and it’s even more incredible to win it. It’s an unbelievable feeling. I am proud of the journey we went on.”
His teammate Desire Doue also grabbed headlines as he was named the Champions League Young Player of the Season. The youngster scored twice and even provided an assist once in the final. He broke multiple records including becoming the first teenager to score a brace in a UCL final.
