Modric, 39, will make his final Bernabeu appearance against Real Sociedad on May 25, concluding an era filled with Champions League glory and domestic dominance. As the club turns the page, Vitinha is increasingly viewed as the ideal successor.
Vitinha’s standout performance in PSG’s emphatic 5-0 win against Inter Milan in the Champions League final caught the eyes of many. Reportedly, that included Real Madrid scouts. His composure, precise passing, and ability to dictate tempo were on full display during the all-important match.
Former Manchester United and Bayern Munich player Owen Hargreaves was effusive in his praise on TNT Sports. He said, “Vitinha plays like Luka Modric. He’s impossible to play against. He’s very reminiscent of Modric himself. There’s no higher praise than that.”
His intelligent, composed, and technically refined way of play fits the mould to replace Modric perfectly at Santiago Bernabeu. However, bringing him to Spain, may be more difficult than expected for Los Blancos as Vitinha still has a contract with PSG until 2027.

As per reports, PSG have slapped a €130 million price tag on Vitinha. They have also insisted that the midfielder is absolutely not for sale. However, Real Madrid is no stranger to navigating such difficult negotiations. They are patient and vicious as the Kylian Mbappe transfer saga remains a prime example.
Real Madrid have already started this transfer window hot. They’ve already brought in the talented Trent Alexander-Arnold from Liverpool at the lowest price of £10 million. With a very underwhelming 2024-25 season, it’s clear that they are now looking for more players to get ready for the coming season.
