The seven-time Wimbledon champion faces rising Italian Flavio Cobolli in the Wimbledon quarterfinal clash.
Novak Djokovic, the 24-time Grand Slam champion and sixth seed, is set to face 22nd seed Flavio Cobolli in the Wimbledon 2025 quarterfinals. Cobolli, who turned pro in 2020, has enjoyed a strong campaign, notching straight-set wins over qualifier Beibit Zhukayev, wild card Jack Pinnington Jones, and 15th seed Jakub Mensik. His fourth-round battle against Marin Cilic went four sets, with the Italian holding firm in two tight tiebreaks.
Djokovic’s path has been steadier, with wins over Alexandre Muller, Dan Evans, and Miomir Kecmanovic. Against Alex de Minaur, he dropped a rare 6-1 set, his first-ever breadstick at Wimbledon, before storming back in classic fashion.
Tough one today, happy to be through. @alexdeminaur and the wind are not easy to battle! Glad @rogerfederer got to see it 😆 Quarterfinals, idemooo pic.twitter.com/L1cIPH7ZIk

Djokovic’s 2025 season has been a rollercoaster, featuring a quarterfinal in Brisbane, a mid-match right leg injury in Melbourne after upsetting Carlos Alcaraz, and a runner-up finish in Miami, where he lost to Jakub Mensik. After early exits in the following tournaments, he rebounded by winning his 100th career title in Geneva and made the semifinals at Roland Garros, where he lost to Jannik Sinner. Statistically, he remains elite with 204 aces, a 76% first-serve win rate, 31% return points won on first serve, and a 41% break-point conversion from 220 chances.

In his breakthrough season, Cobolli defeated top-seeded Andrey Rublev to win his first ATP title in Bucharest and a second in Hamburg. He also peaked at world No. 24 in his career and advanced to the Halle quarterfinals. His recent results and grass-court form make him a worthy challenger, even though he had struggled moving past the early rounds in most other events. So far in 2025, he’s fired 109 aces, won 66% of first-serve points, and converted 37% of 259 break-point opportunities.
