Lando Norris was having a comparatively better weekend in Miami. After pulling himself out of his mental battles, Norris was looking good for the Miami Grand Prix weekend. His first success came in the Miami GP Sprint Race. Lando Norris trumped over his teammate to secure the victory in the sprint race. During the Qualifying session, Lando Norris narrowly lost pole position. He was starting the grid in second place for the Miami GP.
Norris was among the favorites to win the race in 2025 having won it in the previous year. A front row start for the Briton also put him in a favorable position to battle for the lead. Unfortunately for the Papaya driver, he found himself clashing with Max Verstappen from the very first turn. Similar to his previous encounters with the Dutchman, Norris lost positions.
Lando Norris fell back to sixth on the grid and spent the rest of the race trying to get himself back on the podium. In the end, he did not enough pace necessary to overtake his teammate who was doing a near-perfect job throughout the race.
Lando Norris Slams Max Verstappen’s Racing Habits After Inevitable Clash
Lando Norris was not impressed by racing Max Verstappen in the Miami Grand Prix. He went up against the four-time champion once again for claiming the podium. Although, this time he was using the strategy that won Oscar Piastri the race lead against Verstappen. The race was ultimately bad for Max Verstappen. He finished in fourth place and a whopping 40s behind Piastri.
“Fighting hard. It’s up to him to do that. He’s ruined his own race. He’s not racing very smart.”

“Impossible”- Norris Debunks Probability of His Victory in Miami
After Norris went past Verstappen, he had only one foe in sight. All Lando Norris had to do was overtake his teammate and relish the taste of victory. But, he could only finish the race in second place less than five seconds behind Piastri. Norris said that he tried his best to overtake. However, Oscar’s flawless driving meant that victory was not in his cards this time.
He reveals that he did not push his pace further in the ending laps of the race. According to Norris, he gave it his all but he fell short of a few laps.
“I tried the whole race until until the very end so I kept belief during the whole race, but Oscar’s driving. He’s quick to catch but it always pretty much going to be impossible, but I gave it a good shot. I almost got there, just not enough laps.”
I work as a Writer at The Playoffs specialising in Formula 1 and Motorsports. I got into online journalism a couple of years ago. I used to be an intern for a website managing their Formula 1 content and then I served an entire year as a contractual writer.
For me, online journalism was not something I expected. I am a Mechanical Engineer aiming to join Formula 1. At the same time, I am a poet, writer and my university's Literary Club Lead. One day the dots connected together and I realised I could use my writing skills to convey my passion for Motorsports.
The biggest aspects I love about my role are- Scuderia Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel. When I am not fawning over them I like to convey my opinions to the public, in a manner which helps them gain a new point of view. I love helping people explore new ideas about Motorsports and obviously get recognised as a writer all over the world.
Message to Readers: I promise you one day you'll see me managing operations on track with a Formula 1 team ; )
