Paris Saint-Germain’s quest to complete the first-ever unbeaten season in Ligue 1 history came to an abrupt end on Friday as they suffered a 3-1 defeat at home to Nice. The French champions, who had already secured the title earlier this month, saw their impressive 30-game unbeaten run snapped with four games left to play.
Despite dominating the opening exchanges at Parc des Princes, PSG were undone by a ruthless Nice side determined to keep their Champions League hopes alive. Against the run of play, Morgan Sanson marked his first start of the season with a clinical finish in the 34th minute, slotting in Badredine Bouanani’s through-ball.

PSG responded quickly through Fabian Ruiz, whose half-volley levelled the scores seven minutes later. However, any momentum the hosts hoped to build was wiped away just 22 seconds into the second half, as Sanson struck again, volleying home from close range to restore Nice’s lead. Youssouf Ndayishimiye then headed in a third from a set-piece in the 70th minute to seal a famous victory for the visitors.
Despite their dominance in possession, PSG were left frustrated by poor finishing and an inspired display from Nice goalkeeper Marcin Bulka, who made several key saves. Bulka delivered a masterclass against his old club, making a staggering 12 saves to almost single-handedly shut the door on any hopes of a Paris Saint-Germain comeback. The 24-year-old was in superb form as he frustrated PSG’s star-studded attack time and again.
The defeat comes at a crucial time for Luis Enrique’s side, who now must regroup quickly ahead of their Champions League semi-final first leg against Arsenal.
“We attacked in many different ways, they defended incredibly well,” PSG manager Luis Enrique told DAZN after the match.
“We would love to play the same kind of match against Arsenal and have 30 chances, but we have to congratulate Nice and we will do our best to support each other.”
