Nets vs Mavericks – Will Anthony Davis Play Tonight?

The Dallas Mavericks are set to clash against the Brooklyn Nets on Monday, March 24 at the Barclays Center. They will head into the game on the back of a 123-117 win over the Detroit Pistons, a victory which ended their four-game losing streak. On the other hand, the Nets have been on a three-game losing spree, and have suffered eighth straight defeats.

Things haven’t been going too well for the Dallas Mavericks this season. After moving superstar Luka Doncic in a blockbuster trade, things went downhill for them. They acquired former Los Angeles Lakers superstar Anthony Davis with hopes of getting more wins. Unfortunately, Davis got injured during his debut game for the Mavs on Feb. 8 and has been sidelined since then.

What made things worse for them was their reliable star Kyrie Irving’s injury, which ruled him out for the rest of the season. The Mavericks were left stranded out of blue, and since then, it has been a bumpy ride for them. Seeded eleventh in the West, the Mavs have suffered 37 losses in 71 games this season, and eight in their last ten.

With only eleven regular season games remaining, they are in dire need to win most of their remaining clashes. As they hope for a quick and healthy return of their newest acquisition, there is a positive update for the Mavericks regarding the injury status of Anthony Davis.

Will Anthony Davis Play Tonight?

NBA insider Marc Stein reported that Davis is in the final stages of his rehabilitation and is poised for his return during their upcoming four-game road trip. According to him, 10-time All-Star could be back for the clash against the New York Knicks on Tuesday.

However, later, in an another update, he reported that Davis could make his return against the Nets on Monday. Not only this, but the official NBA injury report also updated his status from doubtful to questionable.

Apart from him, Brandon Williams has been listed as probable against the Nets with low back tightness.

Dante Exum, Daniel Gafford, Kyrie Irving, Dereck Lively II, Caleb Martin and Olivier-Maxence Prosper have been listed out.
