James Harden made history during the Clippers’ loss to the Thunder on Sunday. Finishing with 17 points, five rebounds, and eight assists despite a rough shooting night (4-for-14), the former MVP became the 11th all-time leading scorer in NBA history with 27,410 career points scored.
This isn’t the first time the former MVP has climbed the scoring rankings this season. Starting the year in 21st place, the 35-year-old guard is now closing in on the top 10. After surpassing Moses Malone last night, he is now chasing Carmelo Anthony, who sits in 10th place with 28,289 points. Given that only 879 points separate them, Harden could break into the top 10 by the middle of the 2025-26 season.
Still impactful and productiver, the future Hall of Famer is averaging 22.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 8.7 assists this season. James Harden‘s performances earned him a return to the All-Star Game after a four-year absence and could help the Clippers secure a direct playoff spot. Currently eighth in the Western Conference (40-31) with 11 games remaining, the Clippers are just one game behind sixth-seeded Golden State Warriors.
Next up for the Clippers: a trip to New York to face the Knicks and the Nets on March 26 and 28.
