Netflix brings back the highly popular 'Quarterback' series for season 2!
Netflix launched its first NFL docuseries pertaining to an in-depth look at the lives of NFL quarterbacks both on and off the field in 2023. The 8-episode mini-series titled ‘Quarterback’ was a huge hit and Netflix followed that up with their next docuseries ‘Receiver’ in 2024, and 2025 will feature season 2 of Quarterback.
The series is co-produced by the NFL and former 5-time NFL MVP quarterback himself, Peyton Manning, and his Omaha Productions. Players featured in the docuseries are mic’d up during practice sessions and game days and the audience gets a feel for what life is like for players during game time and the grind throughout the week. Additionally, there is also a layer of personal touch with the players and their families off the field.
Season 2 of Quarterback will be aired on Netflix and will be released in July 2025. This season will take a look at the recently concluded 2024 NFL season and will focus on three quarterbacks and how they tackled the year both professionally and personally.

In season 2 we will get to see Cincinnati Bengals’ Joe Burrow and Detroit Lions’ Jared Goff as the two new quarterbacks, while Atlanta Falcons’ quarterback Kirk Cousins makes his return for the second season in a row. In 2023, Cousins was on the Minnesota Vikings for season 1 of the series.

In 2024, Joe Burrow was coming back after an injury-riddled 2023 season where he managed to play in just 10 games. After having missed the playoffs in 2023, Burrow was looking to guide the team back to the postseason. Off the field, Burrow had to deal with his home being burglarized during an away game in Dallas.
As for the Lions’ signal caller, Goff was looking to build upon the NFC Championship game loss to the 49ers in the previous season. Both Goff and Detroit had yet another stellar season, but once again came up short when they needed to perform.
Kirk Cousins went through a transitional period as he moved from the cold of Minnesota to the warmer place in Atlanta. As the Falcons’ new starting quarterback, Cousins had the task of getting them back into the playoffs in the less-than-dominant NFC South division. Atlanta had last made the playoffs in 2017. However, with the season not going according to plan, Cousins was benched for the last three games of the season with rookie Michael Penix Jr. taking over.

Season 1 of Quarterback was based on the 2022 NFL season, and it featured Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs, Kirk Cousins of the Minnesota Vikings, and Marcus Mariota of the Atlanta Falcons. The first season was aired on July 12, 2023, by Netflix and it is responsible for getting the ball rolling.
If you are a diehard fan of the NFL or even a casual viewer of the sport, but interested in what happens behind the scenes, during practice, or even on game days, as well as how players spend their off-time recovering their bodies, dissecting the games, and personal family time, then Quarterback Season 2 is a must watch for you.
I am a content writer for the NFL team. I joined The Playoffs recently at the beginning of February after working with Sportskeeda and NFL Analysis as an NFL writer. However, this is a career change for me as previously I used to be a French to English translator. I started out in the sports media field because of two main reasons: my love for sports in general, especially the NFL, NBA, and Tennis as well as my passion for writing. I get to write a variety of pieces with the freedom to explore content from various angles. It also enables me to stay up to date with the sporting world which otherwise can be difficult to do in the day-to-day grind. In a world full of chaos, sports unites and entertains like nothing else!
